Was riding along the road the other day approaching Vientiane , and in the corner of my eye i noticed a long thin snake leaping from a branch and it glided down to the road where it landed with a belly flop "flup" sound just behind me and scooted off into the bush.
I checked on the web as i'd seen some wildlife program on flying snakes with film of them gliding between the trees, and sure enough they are native to SE Asia.
But anyone see them in the KOW?
Do they ever land on people in the roads?
Seen quite a few snakes crossing the road in Laos. One lashed out at a motorcycle that crossed it's path.

Golden Tree Snakes are very common in Angkor Wat; seen them many times. Obviously not flying but gliding.spitthedog wrote:Was riding along the road the other day approaching Vientiane , and in the corner of my eye i noticed a long thin snake leaping from a branch and it glided down to the road where it landed with a belly flop "flup" sound just behind me and scooted off into the bush.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

I'd agree with that ID.
