Trick or Treating in Phnom Penh?
I heard the BKK area has places where you can take your kids trick-or-treating? Does anybody know where I can get info about this? Or does anybody know anywhere else you can do trick-or-treating in Phnom Penh?

this isn't America, so fortunately none of that goes on, well aside from at Golden Sorya Mall but that isn't particularly Kid friendly, plenty of ghouls and haunted characters though.
But I wouldnt recommend knocking on doors for candy dressed as ghosts in Cambodia....
there is a kids party on 27th at Canadian International School (check their FB), also Gecko Garden, a party at YouArt on Sunday
There is something about tuk tuk halloween (involves decorating a tuk tuk and getting candy from set locations this tends to be in BKK so maybe what you mean) but maybe you have left it too late - ask in the Cambodia Parents Network https://www.facebook.com/groups/cambodiaparentnetwork/

Thanks. Yeah, the latter is what I'm talking about. I just figure trends have been changing a lot in the past few years. Even a few years ago, it seemed like Christmas wasn't much of a thing in Cambodia. But every year, I see more and more Christmas stuff around that time.
Locals might be amused if you dressed up as a ting mong, minus the revolver.

She should go and take a trip to GSM or Paddy Rice at night if she wants to see real ghouls and ghostsMiguelito wrote:One of my staff was just contemplating Halloween, and said: “imagine if you dressed up as a ghost and went to the club, but then saw a real ghost?? What would you do? It would be so scary.”
Go knocking on the doors in the Tonle Bassac community, that's where all the US Embassy Staff live....likely the only place in PP you're kids will be welcomed with candy.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Halloween is not really celebrated outside Western countries. Unless you live in a posh subdivision where people are western educated. Maybe they have trick or treating there.

He did specifically ask about the Boueng Keng Kang neighborhood. It is a relatively affluent area where a fair few foreigners live or frequent. There were Halloween parties in the area for kids and some trick or treating thing that had to be organized because you can't just knock up at any villa in a ghost suit with your hand out. All good fun.

It could be hilarious if a several well made up Halloween ghosts turned up at random Khmer houses.
Grandma would have a fit, then be at the local wat at 5am the next day.
