Nice discrete hotels or resorts around Phnom Penh for private time?
Heeeyy people !
I hope you can help because I am very very new at Phnom Penh
I live in share apartment with colleagues, but my partner is visitng me for some days and obviously we like to spend private discrete time just us alone maybe 2 3 nights lol do you have some idea? Is there good hotel or resort in nice quiet location and is private? (but I have to work daytime so must stay not too far).
I am worried if hotel checks my passport - I have to always stay in place I wrote on boarding pass right? If I go somewhere else, any issues? For visa?
I tried Google already but nothing
Hope you have some good ideas!

This isn't a thing (and hasn't been since the dreary 1980s PRK), the address you write on there has no bearing on where you end up staying, and nobody will ever question that.mariacatit wrote: I am worried if hotel checks my passport - I have to always stay in place I wrote on boarding pass right? There are hundreds of hotels and thousands of guesthouses around town. Generally they are all private. Without knowing your budget and the area that suits you it's impossible to give you any useful advice.I live in share apartment with colleagues, but my partner is visitng me for some days and obviously we like to spend private discrete time just us alone maybe 2 3 nights lol do you have some idea? Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Oho thank you very much lol I was a bit unsure
I don't know all area names but would be nice if it is something away from city caos, bit green, can relax like resort, something like that. You know what i mean? Budjet $100 dollars for a night is most (but if $105 or 110 dollars and good place is also ok).
Thanks a lot so much again
If you want to take 'your wife' for a few nights every guesthouse / hotel in Phnom Penh won't blink, even if you not check in together. Where to stay depends on your budget and your work location. You give us very little info to come up with a good advice.

Check out The Balé. Extremely quiet during the week, with decent food and a great pool, quiet along the river but only 30 minutes from town.
It's busier on the weekends, but still pretty chill.

This is 98% true. But there are a few that don't allow mixed race couples or don't allow dudes to bring unregistered local women back to the hotel.Kachang wrote:If you want to take 'your wife' for a few nights every guesthouse / hotel in Phnom Penh won't blink, even if you not check in together.

There are hotels that don’t allow mixed race couples? Where are they? Mississippi 1950?

^ The Plantation is one of those places that does not allow mixed race couples - along with all the rest of the boutique hotels in that Froggy group.
Ricecakes once fell foul of their no Khmer girls policy and was rather vocal about it for quite a long time ...
(and he was their with his wife)

This is a great thread if you read it in a bad guy spaghetti western accent.

Is it a no mixed race policy or a no foreign and Khmer policy?Playboy wrote:^ The Plantation is one of those places that does not allow mixed race couples - along with all the rest of the boutique hotels in that Froggy group.

Is it their attempt at a ‘no sex tourism’ policy?

It’s their attempt at a no sex tourism policy, but there have been reports about it being enforced against wives, non-hookers, etc. I’m sure it’s been discussed here.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Is it a no mixed race policy or a no foreign and Khmer policy?Playboy wrote:^ The Plantation is one of those places that does not allow mixed race couples - along with all the rest of the boutique hotels in that Froggy group.

Found the discussion. From 2008, not sure if policies have changed.
