Hi All,
I'm new to this forum. I lived in Asia for over 6 years, 2+ in Philippines, and 3+ in Thailand. I'm currently living in Tennessee, USA but will be moving to Cambodia in about 9 months. I ran a karaoke for a while in Chiang Mai, and I love to sing. Where are the best open bar places to sing around PP?
Thanks,
John

I have no idea about US-style karaoke here, it’s mostly KTVs - either the kind with girls or some “family” KTVs. Perhaps it exists, anyone else know?
Would you do an open Mic, or just looking for karaoke?

What about old Mickey, Yorkshire man, useless quizmaster and bar manager from Sundance II?. He used to do expat ktv nights quite regularly. Haven't heard hide nor hair of him for quite some time though.
Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.

Sry, My open mic days went with my memory for lyrics. I am also a BMI songwriter. I've written over 300, have 200+ on Demo, and I co-wrote a song that was #1 country song in the UK for 2 weeks and in the top 11 across EU for 22 weeks. I remember the lyrics to about 2 that I wrote and pieces to plenty more but not all of any of them.Hi John, welcome to the forum!

Maybe after I get there I will run one, if I can find a willing bar owner. LOL! I have over 100,000 karaoke files on hard drive Plus you tube has anything ever put on karaoke. My only request would no rap, or hip hop crap. I sing everything from the 20's to the 2010's. I just don't like any songs about hate.

Phnom Penh could do with a good late night karaoke bar

Sounds good to me. I'll be there in October, start softening up the owners. I'll bring everything but the speaker system, and maybe a mixer if they have to have one, but my amp does pretty good.Visser wrote:Phnom Penh could do with a good late night karaoke bar
