Conversion of valid electronic tourist visa (obtained online) to E-Type business visa
Conversion of valid electronic tourist visa (obtained online) to E-Type business visa
Is this possible? I recently asked at Lucky Lucky and the lady said no. Hoping there might be other agents that can facilitate this. Thanks in advance.
Not possible.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Yup, have to leave and re-enter, getting the correct visa when you return
You cannot convert in-country, you need to leave the country and then return on an E-type (Ordinary) Visa. You can either get the E-type (Ordinary) Visa on Arrival, or apply for it in the form of an e-Visa (electronic visa) from the official website www.evisa.gov.kh , supporting documentation requirements will depend on your Nationality.

If you find someone offering to convert your T visa to an Ordinary, make careful note of who they are so that you can keep as big a distance from them as possible in future.

I will just add...there are Visa agents who say they can convert your T-type Visa to an E-type Visa, but what they actually do is send your passport with a taxi driver to a land border, pay to get it stamped out, VOA issued and stamped back in. Although the Dept. of Immigration have been cracking down pretty hard on this practice, it still happens, because at the end of the day, Immigration Officers salaries are shite.
Personally, I do not reccomend this, legality aside, it is risky, do you really want to put your faith in a taxi driver travelling halfway across the country and crossing borders with your passport, I doubt it.

I know someone that did that through an agent on the riverside - the passport “left” the country and they didn’t have to. That was 10 years ago, times may have changed.

It also strikes me that evidence of such shenanigans would still linger afterwards in your passport in the form of exit/entry stamps with no corresponding Thai/Viet/Lao stamps on the same day. So even if it worked in the short term, it’d only take one busybody to read your passport carefully at some point down the line for questions to be raised about the legitimacy of your passport.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 12:12 amI will just add...there are Visa agents who say they can convert your T-type Visa to an E-type Visa, but what they actually do is send your passport with a taxi driver to a land border, pay to get it stamped out, VOA issued and stamped back in. Thanks for all the great replies.
I'm a French national. Are they pretty stringent on the documents?PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 3:04 pm...or apply for it in the form of an e-Visa (electronic visa) from the official website www.evisa.gov.kh , supporting documentation requirements will depend on your Nationality.
Go to www.evisa.gov.kh, start the application, once you enter your Nationality and Passport it will display what supporting documents are required, only those with a red * are mandatoryVisa Seeker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 4:02 amThanks for all the great replies.

Yea it used to be a standard, and accepted, practice, however not so much these days, the DoI have been cracking down hard in recent years.
