Hi all,
I'm looking at getting some health insurance for the wife and myself. Looking at Luma etc.
Are there benefits of going via a broker, or should we just go direct?
We've had some health issues in the past, and presume there will be some kind of check up beforehand if we want pre-existing issues properly covered.
Is this the kind of thing the broker would help with? I guess the broker gets a cut of our sign up and renewal fees, will it end up costing us more? (OR less? Because they know how to frame the application?)
If we're in strife, are we able to call the broker? And if so, will they be of any more use than the company's official representatives?
Interested in hearing people's experiences, not just with getting insured in the first place, but also when making claims.
Also, any recommended brokers if consensus is it's the best way forward?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Health Insurance: Direct vs Broker?
In this part of the world you need a broker who speaks your language, is around, and can liaise with the insurance company who will inevitably try not to pay and you really don't want to be negotiating with them when you're in a hospital bed and the clipboard people are hovering waiting for an assurance of money.
