Easy to speak for the silent.
OK. You're right.
People clearly aren't posting on your magnum opus thread because they're all hunkered down in nuclear shelters, too terrified to comment.
My mistake.

That is insanely naive. Of course the NK military can do real damage. Millions of South Koreans are in range of thousands of pieces of conventional artillery which could each fire off dozens if not hundreds of shells each before being taken out. There is a high probability they have chemical weapons. Maybe not yet Japan, and most probably not Hawaii, but the entire population of Seoul is at serious risk.AE86 wrote: and then there are those saying the North Korean military is pathetic and there's no chance his military could do any real damage.

Dangerious, incompetent fool..The launch was just hours after the publication of comments by the US President that conflict between the west and Pyongyang may be more likely.
“There is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea. Absolutely,” Trump told Reuters in an Oval Office interview.
“We’d love to solve things diplomatically but it’s very difficult.”
A US Navy strike group is making its way through Japanese waters as it headed to waters off the Korean Peninsula amid tensions between the US and North Korea.
Footage posted by Japanese broadcaster NHK on Saturday shows the USS Carl Vinson passing through the waters off the coast of Nagasaki, southern Japan.
Thanx French, FFS.French amphibious carrier visits Japan ahead of Pacific show of power
As tension spikes on the Korean peninsula, a French amphibious assault carrier sailed into Japan's naval base of Sasebo on Saturday ahead of drills that risk upsetting China, which faces U.S. pressure to rein in North Korea's arms programs.

Russia backs China’s call to stop N. Korea nuke tests in exchange for halt in US-S. Korea drills
“In this context, the Russian Federation supported a Chinese proposal for a ‘double suspension’ (Pyongyang is to stop missile and nuclear tests and the US and South Korean militaries are to halt drills near North Korea) as a starting point for political negotiations.”
However, the council was not able to agree on a common solution, the ministry added.
The UNSC session was joined by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, who urged Washington and Seoul to reconsider their decision to station a THAAD anti-missile system on the Korean Peninsula, warning that it will serve as a “destabilizing factor” in the region.

What is the UK doing there? Why do you need more enemies ?The Mistral, France’s amphibious assault ship, arrived at a Japanese naval base on Saturday. The warship, which has two British Royal Navy helicopters on board, will take part in a joint drill with Japan and the US next month.

Pope Francis has intervened in the Korean crisis, urging Washington and Pyongyang to come to a peaceful solution for the sake of humanity. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump warned that he “would not be happy” if North Korea conducts another nuclear test.
“We are talking about the future of humanity. Today, a widespread war would destroy – I would not say half of humanity – but a good part of humanity, and of culture, everything, everything,” Francis said Saturday. “It would be terrible. I don't think that humanity today would be able to withstand it.”
“I call on, and will call on, all leaders, as I have called on leaders of various places, to work to seek a solution to problems through the path of diplomacy,”

North Korea has accused Israel of being the “only illegal possessor” of nukes and threat to peace in the Middle East, and threatened Tel Aviv with a “thousand-fold punishment” after Israeli Defense Minister called Pyongyang’s leadership a “crazy and radical group.”
More countries adding pressure, again this is not any form of negotiation.Firing back at the perceived hypocrisy, the North Korean Foreign Ministry said that, unlike Israel, which is a “disturber of peace” in its neighborhood, their country is full entitled to seek deterrence against “US aggression.”
“Israel is the only illegal possessor of nukes in the Middle East under the patronage of the US. However, Israel vociferated about the nuclear deterrence of the DPRK, slandering it, whenever an opportunity presented itself,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said, as cited by state-run agency KCNA.

Fuck...Trump, asked about his message to North Korea after the latest missile test, told reporters: "You'll soon find out", but did not elaborate on what the U.S. response would be.
