Herb Alpert - Rise
That could be my playlist; great stuff, and the the Gilmour album is very enjoyable, especially the tracks Rick Wright contributed to, which with hindsight have become a touch poignant.
Right now, I'm listening to ....
Innervisions - Stevie Wonder
....which is the work of a genius at the very top of his game.

Turbonegro - Armed and fairly well equipped

I went through a long DJ/Mascis phase in the 90s, trying to learn every one of his guitar solos. Here's one of my favourites (first solo starts at around the 2:17 mark and the second around 4:22).Captain Bonez wrote:Dinosaur Jr - Over It

A bit. Not nearly as much as DJ, but I liked the album Bakesale a lot.Captain Bonez wrote:i do like that song, did you ever get into barlows Sebadoh much?
With DJ, I wasn't as into the older stuff (pre-Green Mind), which was what apparently made you a legit fan. I only really got into him when he started doing the really long drawn-out guitar solos. Five minute songs with two minutes worth of solos, walking up and down the neck. Where You Been has to be the best in terms of guitar playing - despite the fact that several of the songs were in the same key / using the same scales. Without a Sound and Hand It Over were great, too.
I suffered permanent hearing loss from going to a couple of his small venue gigs - about 100 people in attendance at a place the size of Gasolina and he'd have four Marshall full stacks set up.
