As there are quite a few folks from the UK on the forum I was wondering what peoples opinion may be on UKIP. With their growing popularity, the European elections around the corner and the General election in a years time I have been doing some reading up.
So far most of what they offer is to my liking, aside from possibly their proposed energy policies : http://www.ukipmeps.org/.../energy-policy-2014-f-20-09...
Anybody out there with some good knowledge on them, either for or against what they stand for ?

Notwithstanding the fact that they have zero chance of noteworthy election success in 2015 because their voters are low in numbers and even lower in IQ, their flagship policy is withdrawal from the EU. With that, an end to the free-trade agreement with a bloc we do most of our trade with and incur a huge trade deficit against. The end of our ability to travel, work and buy property throughout Europe at our leisure. The scaling back of European immigration into the UK, which despite the protestations of the idiot right-wing minority, provides a net economic benefit to the UK presently and will be vital in the future due to our rapidly increasing life expectancy and dropping birth rates.
The rest of their policies are populist, ill-thought out and economically unviable. Their leadership are inarticulate, gaffe-prone dinosaurs and it's a very sad state of affairs when some people consider UKIP a viable political alternative.

This.
The irony is that many expect them to take votes from the Tories. I think they are more likely to take votes from the little England Labour voters who are innately more xenophobic and racist than your average Tory.

I agree but David Cameron recently said that he would consider forming a coalition with UKIP after the next election.
Come on David, looking at the polls, I very much doubt you'll be the one asking.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Well said. I'm not from the UK, but did spend a long time there. Although we obviously disagree on the unchecked immigration of hot 20-something young ladies from the west to the Kingdom of Wonder, I think you do make some good points at times.BURLESQUE@SDHHOTEL wrote:Notwithstanding the fact that they have zero chance of noteworthy election success in 2015 because their voters are low in numbers and even lower in IQ, their flagship policy is withdrawal from the EU. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
They are ridiculed in the UK media. They have a couple of seats in the EU parliament but rarely turn up.
Their candidates have recently come out with statements including that the UK flooding was caused by gay marriage. Another repeatedly refers to African countries as bongo bongo land and was taped saying that women who don't clean behind fridges are "sluts".
They are doing okay in the polls as there is no other party guaranteeing to leave the EU, but I can't imagine they'll win any seats. I don't know anyone willing to admit they'll vote for them.

Both these candidates were expelled from UKIP after idiotic statements were seized upon by the press and political opposition, and amplified to discredit the party.Peaktu wrote:Their candidates have recently come out with statements including that the UK flooding was caused by gay marriage. The UK flooding / gay marriage warning was made whilst the MP in question was previously a member of the Conservative party, he warned David Cameron that he should not continue with the gay marriage bill, as his religious beliefs were that a Christian country that abandons its faith will be beset by natural disasters.
Quite amazing how this was dredged up and used to discredit UKIP.
Amazing what crap does accumulate behind the fridge.
