Is it permissible to laugh
Never mind.
We purchased a two-for-one deal totaling $77; I believe individual tickets went up to about $60+? I'd say the show lasted about an hour and a half. I just keep going back to the audience's reaction though, LOL. Like when Ream Eyso came out during the Moni Mekhala Dance, everyone kind of gasped like, "ohhh, who the hell is thiiiiiiis?" I just loved it.
LOL, downtown is actually a blast (and I don’t mean gun blast). My boyfriend likes Greektown Casino in Greektown to play either craps or this particular machine he was once paid by to watch because, he says, playing all the machines instead of that which you’re familiar with is what they want you to do (I don’t gamble, so…). We’ll take the comps to restaurants in Greektown, though my favorite is a seafood joint called Fishbones (don’t dig Greek food much). There are some Mexican joints, some BBQ joints, quite a mix.
It's a wonderful area to walk around believe it or not. A lot of street performers, guys on the corner playing jazz. The people are lively, often overly friendly (not everyone likes that, I do), and of course that sense of humor. Most Detroiters just want to live their damn lives and are fed up with the violence. Keep in mind most of the violence are in the neighborhoods where there are no lights, abandoned houses, slow police response time. Not downtown.
Really, if the opportunity presents itself, come to Detroit.
To be clear though, I'm from a working-class suburb bordering Detroit so I can't take claim any real street cred, heh.

Never, ever heard that. Only heard it pronounced ab-orIG-in-ee. However most Americans say native or indigenous. Only hear Aborigine used when referring to indigenous Australians.kinard wrote:Ha..I heard one American's pronunciation of the word 'ab·orig·i·ne'..it sounded like this...a-bori-gine..the 'gine' said like 'gene'...Playboy wrote:... is it still permissible to say 'natives'
