Man eating python in sunny SA
It took 8 men to load this python on to the truck. It swallowed a man after it found him drunk and sleeping next to the N2 road in Mkhuze, KZN, South Africa on Saturday. Had it not been spotted, the python would have remained on the same spot for up to 8 months while it digested every piece of the man's body, including skull and every bone in his body.

That snakes sure gets around as it also ate people in India and China. Funnily enough it always ends up in the same truck:

But:
and:Most likely the pictured snake had recently eaten a mid-sized animal such as a pig.
The reticulated python is native to Southeast Asia

I held a Burmese Python when I was in Vietnam which was a 'baby' but would have already been 4 metres long. They were using it as a guard dog apparently.
I'm not a small guy but I was totally surprised by the severe strength of this beast as it got itself into a comfortable coiled position. I reckon if it had the inclination it could have crushed me like a grape.

Reticulated pythons can grow to 30 feet, longer than an anaconda but lighter by the meter.
I had a 3m pet African python years ago and the power is incredible, a 6m one could kill any man on the planet.
Thank Dog they prefer to leave us alone.

I wonder how conscious the guy was when it wrapped itself around him?
Hopefully he was completely out of it.
Those Malayan pit vipers seem like the scariest ones to me. No warning of a bite.
I believe Khmers call them the ''Landmine snake'' as their instinct is to not move so as to ambush prey.

Naturalist Paul Rosolie has agreed to be eaten by a snake, for the sake of a wildlife documentary he is making
Donning a custom-built, snake-proof suit, Rosolie promises to enter the belly of an anaconda, film it, and release his experience in the form of a nature documentary on the Discovery Channel, called Eaten Alive, on December 7.

Was that the snake's defense? He was drunk, officer. I couldn't pass up the opportunity.vladimir wrote:It took 8 men to load this python on to the truck.
