Don't get your hopes up - it's pretty awful.
Vince Vaughn is drowning trying to play a serious role.

Well true, which is why I wouldn't fork out money to see them. I'm a plotty kinda guy- you know, the one who actually watches GoT for the story rather than the nudity (which is why I'll rewatch it in HD on a 48"screen )LexusSchmexus wrote:For some movies I agree, but those two movies aren't meant to be watched for their plots
Just come off watching a 10/10er: new series, Mr Robot. Crap title but real cerebral gripper. Think Matrix meets Trainspotting but no bells and whistles; no kung fu, no dragons, no cyborgs, no clones or other Frankenstein derivatives, just nerdy hackers against the world. 2 episodes out so far - fantastic
I came, I argued, I'm out

I plan to rewatch it all next year before the new season. This year after watching the first episode of the new season, I realized how much I had forgotten, and actually re-watched last years finale just to get a reminder. By next March I'm sure all I'll remember is that someone (no spoiler alert) may or may not have been killed, and forget everything else.Gin&Tonic wrote:I'm currently rewatching GoT. Just finished the Blackwater episode. So many little things you pick up on now that seemed inconsequential before.andyinasia wrote:In fact I'm about to download all series of GoT in high-qual HD to rewatch the entire series 1-5 on my new bigger TV!

Given that they're having to shoot the next series before RR's written the next book, I rather fear Series 6 will be really slow-paced with lots of fillers and flashbacks of stuff that's been cut out of the books so far. Mind you, I'm mugging up on the extensive back-history from before Series 1 Episode 1 - the Targeryan dynasty etc. It's all great stuff!

Well, Mad Max was mostly a waste of time - shame, really - seems they had the budget. Amid a general lack of both Madness and Max, it was too clean where it should have been dirty, too dirty where it should have been clean, and woefully lacking in the spirit of previous versions.
Looking at Mr Robot and I'll take a look for Moon and Sunshine.

Mr. Robot - no. Didn't finish episode 3.
E01 was good, E02 was iffy, E03 - wtf?

Hey, episodes 1-3 were great. Ep 4 went to shit - all druggy druggy bollox
I came, I argued, I'm out
Just watched 'Insurgent'... was a reasonable follow-up to 'Divergent' - lacking the punch of the original idea, but that's in the nature of a sequel.
If you liked the first, fair chance you'll like the second.

Two good Asian offerings:
Metro Manila - btw when is Cambodia going to make a decent crime film?
A River Changes Course - good lo-fi Cambo documentary.

I'm abit behind the times but watched Prisoners last night on Fox movies and thought it was better than the usual crap.

I found Ant Man entertaining. The superhero stuff is getting to be overdone but this one had some humor which separated it from the rest IMO.

Mission Impossible 5 is a hoot - non stop action. May be the best in the franchise (shame about all those BMWs though).
