My lonely boat waiting in boring Malaysia...just waiting to be sailed to SNV. Will be looking for a hand if there is someone up to the task. Plan to hit it solo but decent competent company is always better.
Don't mention the Giant Panda in the room.

Sincerely freakin awesome Marvin!!!!
And thank the gods,
you and your loved ones turned out to be safe.
May it always be that way during your travels.
P.S. I'd be your cabin boy but I get seriously sea sick.
Jesus, Vlad, can you do something about your avatar? It's creepy.

How have I not seen this thread before? Excellent stuff Marvin.
I know I'm unloveable. You don't have to tell me. I don't have much in my life, but take it - it's yours.

I would love to sail with you, only I'm in the US of A and won't be out that way for a couple months. I'm probably going to try and sail to the continent then find my way out there. Of course, that sort of thing happens when it happens, but I'll be in touch. I'm happy to see a sailor on the site. Your posts aren't just seen by a bunch of vlad hands.Marvin wrote:My lonely boat waiting in boring Malaysia...just waiting to be sailed to SNV. There has been plenty of wind lately...too bad it's all from the wrong direction. It's often a very tough time for me during the sailing off-season. It's always nice at first to have a break off my boat but after a short time the novelty wears off very quickly. I guess that is one of the toughest mental challenges for me personally, having such a close connection with the ocean and the freedom of wide open spaces.
Have been back in Cambodia a few months now and everything is going fine: jobs, house, school for the little crew member, plus all the trimmings that come with your standard life on land which I am very grateful for. But the pull of the sea is so strong...it's a constant struggle not to feel dissatisfied living a normal land life.
Many people say to me 'there is no way I could do what you do...', being so far away from anything like help and people because they'd be too scared! My biggest fear is being able to cope with day to day life.
Now that's fucking scary....
This photo horrifies me atm because it means there's no possible way, for a few months at least, of getting my boat and sailing it here. I think I will just write some detailed posts about the last trip from Australia to Malaysia and other adventures to remember what salt feels like in my soul again.

That's gotta be only a few floors up? Excellent view.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

9th floor. Some of the rooms even have terraces. I think that's where Miguelito stays.
