Yeah, I think you're right. And wouldn't be surprised if his data reveals him posting from Singapore.RobW wrote:

Seems like it is the most cowardly form of suicide one can commit

I don't buy the suicide thing. Psychological studies of potential suicides show that they will themselves to kill themselves - not commit mass murder of others. Studies have been done time and time again. Messing around with the mind has been carried out since time immemorial. The suicide theory doesn't add up. Why are so many potential suicides allowed to fly passenger planes? There are many stringent measures in place.
Nope. For me, it doesn't make sense.

I think I remember reading somewhere once that actually if you divide the number of road deaths by the number of journeys by road that an individual takes and then divide the number of air deaths by the number of flights a person takes, it works out as you are almost certain to die at some point from at least one of the above, or something else and often twice as likely if you are flying or not depending which day it is per million miles travelled by each person on a sliding scale.
Seriously though, been following this all day on Sky News on the Xbox (gotta earn its keep). It seems definite that it was a deliberate act by the co-pilot. To me it seems it was a deliberate act by the pilot of MH 370 also. I think now it is time to take the human element inside a plane out of flying aircraft completely. We already know that we are capable of flying, taking off and landing drones remotely at an incredibly successful rate. Isn't it time we had pilots sat on the ground and used a combination of auto-pilot features and remote control to pilot our planes? Surely machines are safer than humans? Humans are a bit froot loops at the end of the day, but that's far easier to monitor in a hangar somewhere. I'd even propose that control of aircraft be taken over by local remote controllers specialising in each particular airport landings. And I think this will happen in the near future. Take out the human element, it's provided more consistent results in every other industry, surely it would be safer in aviation too?

Sorry, but not the first suicide by plane. You already need to be pretty fucked up to off yourself, if you are even more fucked up than that, what are a couple of hundred people more or less?springrain wrote:I don't buy the suicide thing. Quite a few suicides by pilots that I remember, many Australian pilots believe MH 117 was suicide too. What about the good old days when young terrorists from the PLO hijacked planes with with AKs? Or even earlier when take me to Cuba became part of the lannguage?
Still at least he didnt fly the plane into a building, that caused all sorts of trouble last time.
