Nothing but an opinionated tourist. The Pope spends more time in countries than I do ! It is also not my place to comment on a gentleman's dress. A real 23 minute wonder, that obviously knows little about ovens and cooking in Cambodia.
I spent the summers there as well, up until the mid 70's . What's your favourite Lena Zavaroni song!andyinasia wrote:Coincidentally, I was just sorting out some desktop wallpaper last night. Here's Bonny Rothesay-o where I spent every summer of my youth with my gran:

Aargh. Her mum and my mum were schoolmates. I knew the precocious little brat
Her dad did the finest fish 'n' chips on the island though.

Born in Govan.
Moved around a lot. Now in the Butney, which is the birthplace of Australians!
Botany Timeline:
1790's
Cottages built to accommodate textile workers first made up the estate known as the Botany. The area's name, which included Whitelaw Street, Cowal Street, Lochgilp Street and Glencloy Street, derived from the convicts who were shipped to Australia's Botany Bay from the Forth and Clyde canal adjacent to the estate.

Norwich city centre, including the castle which sits on a hill overlooking the city and is now a very good museum. In the foreground is Norwich market.
As a kid, I would play truant from school and hitchhike to Norwich. A bag of chips on on the market, a mooch around the museum and the city. Not a care in the world.
