Help, please, with quantum physics
Can any of our wise posters please help me out with whether some of the theoretical concepts outlined below are sound? It would greatly help me in trying to piece together answers to some big questions. I'd imagine Jacked Camry to be most likely to help, but anyone please feel free to comment if you have some knowledge of this complex issue. Obviously, I've tried to understand most of this myself, but I'm struggling with some of the concepts. Thanks very much!

APPENDIX F
QUANTUM LEVELS OF EXISTENCE
According to Preston Nichols
When I am referring to quantum levels of existence, “quantum” refers to the different or many possible levels. “Quantum” comes from the Latin root “quantis” which means quantity.
Understanding multiple realities is key to understanding time. Conventional physics does not deny the possibility of parallel existences, but it is mostly concerned with theories about matter and anti-matter. As there is much evidence to prompt scientific investigation into the area, there are currently about sixty theories around the world and ten in the U.S. that deal with quantum levels of reality.
I am offering my own theory based upon my experiences, some of which are covered in this book. Like any proper scientific theory, this is being offered because it has proven workable to me in the laboratory. It will also help the reader get a better grasp of how time functions.
What exactly is parallel reality?
It would be a world or universe that has almost everything we have here. If we switched into it, we’d see another body that would represent us in the other existence. The parallel universe would not necessarily behave exactly like the one we’re familiar with. It would have unique properties unto itself.
It is my understanding that we exist in a number of parallel realities. We are primarily conscious of “our reality” because we are focused or referenced to it. The parallel universes might reach our consciousness through dreams, ESP, meditation or artificially induced mental states.
It is now important to consider the overall view and what these different realities might look like in schematic form. Einstein theorized that if one travels in a straight line from any particular point in space that one would eventually end up in exactly the same place that they started at. This could be considered a full loop. We are not going to go into the equations of that, but the general reader can grasp this by understanding what Einstein called a time toroid. For this purpose, a toroid can be likened to a two dimensional doughnut.
Einstein likened the entire universe to a time toroid. He theorized that if one started in a straight line from any given point on the outside of the doughnut, that one would end up at the exact opposite end of the doughnut. Both of these point would be essentially the same, except that one could be considered “positive” and the other “negative.” As they are both points in the infinite stream of time, one point could be called “positive infinity” and the other “negative infinity.”
For purposes of explaining my theory, I have extrapolated upon Einstein’s idea and have converted his time toroid into a three dimensional sphere. The reader can easily picture a smaller sphere inside of a bigger sphere. For clarification, we will call the inside sphere, Sphere A, which can be likened to a softball. The bigger sphere will be called Sphere B and can be likened to a basketball (which is hollow).
Our experiences in different realities all occur within the realm of Sphere A. If you start from a point on Sphere A and travel in a straight line, you will eventually come back to where you started from.
Within Sphere A, everything in dynamic and moving. It is time as we conceive it.
The area between Sphere A and Sphere B is not dynamic at all. In fact, it is considered to be at rest. We can postulate this area to be a sea of time particles. These are not particles in any ordinary sense. In fact, trying to describe them in this three dimensional example is awkward. We are simply assuming these non-moving particles of time exist because we can sense them (if only in idea form). These particles between Sphere A and Sphere B would be the same as the particles in dynamic time (within Sphere A) except that they are static, i.e. at rest.
Incidentally, we are not conscious of static time because our “normal” reality is built upon dynamic functions or dynamic time.
A reality in time is created when God or someone creates a stress on the wall of Sphere A. This stress will cause the dynamic particles inside of Sphere A to move and travel through the sphere until there is a loop, thus completing the Alpha and Omega (beginning and end).
Our reality can be considered one gigantic loop. It could have started with the big bang or the beginning of the universe and would eventually end there, but it would in fact continue ad infinitum.
When someone or something then takes that loop that we are in and creates a new time stress and changes reality, a new loop is created that is, in fact, an alternate reality. The original loop cannot be obliterated or denied. It will still be there. The new loop could be modified in any way the modifier chooses. It could be an opening in 1963 that goes to 1983. Everything in between those times would be an alternate loop. It would not be an entire loop of its own, but would be added to the original loop of our normal reality. In this way, partial loops would be added on to our original time line, and we can call this conglomeration of loops a manifold. Each loop could also be called a manifold (a manifold generally refers to something that has many parts).
As different alternate realities are created off of the original loop, additional manifolds are added to the sphere and make it swell. In addition to the alternate realities created by changing the reality of a particular time line, there could be parallel realities created in the beginning of time that also have their own “original” loops as well. There is an infinite number of loops and manifolds possible.
Some people may wonder about Sphere B in the above example. It is basically there to make the theory fit. At this point, I can add no further significance to Sphere B except that it serves as a wall containing time stress particles. It could possibly be a part of a bigger scheme of metaphysics.
Now that you have a grasp of how these time loops and manifolds fit into an overall picture of the universe, there is another key question that must be asked.
Is it possible to gain consciousness of the other loops or manifolds?
Yes, it is. This is what happened on my roof when I was putting up my Delta T antenna (as discussed in Chapter Six). That antenna has a subtle interdimensional effect on the nature of time itself. It enabled me to regain consciousness of an alternate time line that I had been put on against my innate will.
It is therefore possible for others to travel from one time loop to another. In fact, it appears that this is the entire reason for the Philadelphia Experiment and Montauk Project in the first place. This theory indicates that not only was an alternate time loop created but that this loop enabled a vast influx of alien UFOs to come to this planet. UFOs have always been around, but there is no denying the sudden frequency of reports in the 1940’s.
Even if you do not accept any of this as the truth, it is quite obvious that this is the type of advantage an alien race might have over us.
The next point I want to address is that parallel realities are based upon principles common to electromagnetics. For example, it is common knowledge that alternating current is created by an alternating difference in potentials.
It is the relationship between the voltage and the current that makes alternating current function. Further, the relationship between the current and voltage is inextricable.
Just as there is an interplay between the voltage and current, there is one between two different realities.
Extrapolating from these principles, it can be understood that parallel realities are ninety degrees out of phase with our “normal reality.” In other words, if there is a parallel reality, one has to consider that it has potential energy. It is not activated of itself. It would also be ninety degrees out of kilter from our normal viewpoint. The fact that it is potential energy means that it has the capability to flow to our reality and vice versa.
This explains that there is not only a relationship between electromagnetic principles and other universes, but suggests that by utilizing electromagnetic principles that one can theoretically enter the realm of other realities. These would include the alternate time loops of which I have already spoken.
It is hoped that the above will give the reader a general understanding of how electromagnetic principles were used to manipulate time at Montauk.

"please help me out with whether some of the theoretical concepts outlined below are sound?"
It's from a work of science fiction and most of the science in there is so bad it's not even wrong. The fiction is just bad.
The parallel reality stuff is hand waving.
He conflates two of Einstein's ideas so as to get both wrong. Einstein showed that space/time is curved (it is) and hypothesized that the universe was flat (it probably is but it's still not conclusively proven). The rest of it is his "extrapolat[ion] upon Einstein’s idea" but since he hasn't a clue what Einstein's ideas were, how can he build on them? Batshitcrazyweirdo makes more sense at 3AM.

I knew quantum physics was best left to women when I read a while ago that some stuff could both be true and false at the same time. A bit like wives' way of thinking, no matter what you say or do they'll always be right and you'll always be wrong.

Thanks for all the replies, fellas.
Felgers, I'm looking into Garrett Lisi even as I write.
Scobienz, I think your assessment is a tad unfair - I will explore all possibilities until I arrive at the truth. Wouldn't it be terribly narrow-minded to just accept that what we perceive as the material world is the only possibility of existence?
Anyway, I asked a question and am grateful for the answers.

I think the text isn't really about quantum physics, it's about the nature of reality. He seems to be taking the idea of the multiverse which is possible in string theory and then putting forward some ideas that are a long stretch at best, such as consciousness being able to move between those parallel universes.
[Skip next three paragraphs if you are easily bored, the interesting stuff will follow]
There are a few problems with this, the first is that string theory, is just that, a theory. It makes no testable predictions, so therefore although being mathematically sound (or mathematically brilliant), it's closer the the realm of philosophy than science, mathematical philosophy if you like. There's nothing wrong with this, most ground breaking theories begin life in this way, but in time very clever people make testable predictions and even cleverer people invent technology that allows those predictions to be tested. The thing is, string theory has been around since the 60's and that still hasn't happened and doesn't look likely to happen.
The reason string theory has been given so much weight is because the two main theories that all of physics rely on are general relativity that explains the very large (GR) and quantum field theory that explains the very small (QFT) are at odds with each other. Both theories make lots of testable predictions that have since been proven. The holy grail of physics over the last fifty years has been to create a theory of everything (ToE) that unifies GR and QFT. String theory is the best attempt at ToE that's mathematically sound, although it has to do all sorts of mathematical back-flips to achieve that, such as theorizing 10/11 dimensions and making things like parallel universes possible.
The second flaw in his logic is his perception of parallel universes. To say that we exist in those other universes (if string theory were correct and they did exist) is completely incorrect. The parallel universes would be infinite and contain every possible configuration of variables possible at every point in time. Think of the unique chain of events that had to have occurred since the beginning of time to result in you sitting at your keyboard reading this post. Then think what the chances are that you are sitting in that same chair in the next universe over, or you even exist in that universe, or even for the laws of physics as we understand them to exist in that universe.
[Okay people who are easily bored can begin reading again here]
As I said in the first paragraph, the idea presented in the text isn't about quantum physics, it's about the nature of reality. For fun I'm going to share some ideas that are more likely to explain the nature of reality. A far more likely scenario is that we are in fact living in a simulated reality.
Let's start with Steve Bostrom's simulation argument (http://www.simulation-argument.com/simulation.html). He puts forward the case that one of the following must be true:
1. Human civilization is unlikely to reach a level of technological maturity capable of producing simulated realities, or such simulations are physically impossible to construct.
2. A comparable civilization reaching aforementioned technological status will likely not produce a significant number of simulated realities (one that might push the probable existence of digital entities beyond the probable number of "real" entities in a Universe) for any of a number of reasons, such as, diversion of computational processing power for other tasks, ethical considerations of holding entities captive in simulated realities, etc.
3. Any entities with our general set of experiences are almost certainly living in a simulation.
So to sum up, it will either never be possible to create a simulation of our reality. If it is possible an advanced civilization for whatever reason will never create a significant number of such simulations. Or a significant number of such simulations were / have been created and the chances are that we exist in one (as there is only one true reality but n number of simulations).
Now this is pretty far out there as a concept, but surprisingly physics is now moving in this direction. To explain this in a simple way let's pretend that we live in a video game (think a boring version of Grand Theft Auto 5). An entity in the game can only every perceive or measure the reality contained within the game (think of our universe as the game map), it's impossible to observe or measure information beyond that reality when you exist within it.
Entities within the game perceive a physical universe, but in reality the universe is information based, this sounds insane but a lot of what we know about quantum mechanics backs this up. Many physicists are now moving in this direction (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/blogs/phys ... ndamental/).
The biggest pieces of evidence we have are found in quantum theory. First let's look at Heisenberg's uncertainty principle made famous by Schrodinger's cat though experiment:
So if this is correct it means that all matter only exists as a wave of possibility until it's observed. Think about how a game like GTA5 works, the machine is only rendering the part of the map that is currently being observed by the player as this conserves computational resources, it won't render other sections of the map until they are observed, those other areas of the game map that aren't being observed exist only as a series of possibilities, it will depend which variables are present when they are observed as to which of those possibilities will be manifested as perceived reality (i.e. the cat being alive or dead).
You're probably now thinking WTF, that sounds like some pie in the sky type bollocks. Yes it does, but unfortunately for my psychologist the fact that all matter exists as a wave of possibilities until it is observed can be proven. This proof was many decades in the making, but it started with the two slit experiment which was devised to show us whether light is a wave or a particle which uncovered some very unexpected results:
There has been lots of debate about why this was, why the act of observing a particle (recording information) changed its behaviour. Many argued that it was the the particles that were being used to make the observation that changed the behaviour not the act of observation itself. That was proved to be incorrect by the delayed choice quantum eraser experiment (warning this will give you a headache):
This experiment has now been taken one step further and has been repeated using helium atoms which shows it applies to all matter, not just light: http://phys.org/news/2015-05-quantum-th ... dness.html.
So now we know that just like a video game only the sections of the universe that are being observed are actually being rendered (collapse of the wave function in physics speak). Let's look at how nicely this analogy fits with two of the most well known constants in physics. Using this metaphor you could think of light speed as the frame rate (information cannot be transferred faster than this) and the planck length as the pixel size (http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/1887 ... d-hologram).
Where all of this really starts to get weird (if the above wasn't already weird enough), is where consciousness fits into the picture. Are the players in this game internal or external?
This is where you really start getting onto the fringes of science, science has for so long been at odds with theism that to even suggest our consciousness isn't a manifestation of our perceived physical universe but has its origins form somewhere beyond that reality (other) is scientific blasphemy. If you are willing to explore a little deeper into this heresy, light a joint, pop open a tube of Pringles and use these two videos as a jumping off point:
