Ever thought about throwing most of your clothes away?
Ever thought about throwing most of your clothes away?
I'm trying to decide now.
I think life would be easier with a few pairs of clothes you can replace at any moment.
It's just so hard to let go.

I did it when I left home, didn't you?
pew, pew, pew, pew!

When I cycle the world I shall be carrying no more than four days supply of casual clothes for night time , sight seeing etc, 3 days of cycling kit (easy to wash over night) , one day of gym kit, plus a sarong ,a raincoat, a pair of shoes and flip flops. I shall buy, throw away , replace according to the weather which hopefully will remain above 16 celius .

k440, something to do when you're pissed.
Simple - choose a clothes D-Day, & put all your clothes away with coat hangers facing the opposite way to how you normally hang them (you are OCD right?). As you wear and wash your regs, put them back how you normally hang them, after 1-2 months, check which items are on coat hangers still facing the wrong way - donate to charity, job done.

I do it regularly. No matter how much new stuff I buy, I always find myself defaulting to 2-3 pairs of jeans and 3-4 shirts. I'm due a purge now.

I don't know about you guys but i've recently changed from wearing boxer shorts to those tight stretchy calvin kline jobbies. I find i don't like boxers anymore cos the nuts bounce around too much when you exercise.
Anyway, surely having fewer clothes is only a real benefit if you are traveling?
When i was traveling i liked not having much worth nicking. It was kind of liberating. But people don't usually steal clothes imho.

I'm going to do it.
I'll start by sqwating as deep as I can at the gym until my shorts split open and my balls dangle out.
No Cambodia would fit into my clothes or I would have felt better throwing them away by donating them.
Do you think that naked guy from Kampot needs any new clothes?

I'm going to do the same as you in about a year except I'll travel by bus/train/rail.horace wrote:When I cycle the world I shall be carrying no more than four days supply of casual clothes for night time , sight seeing etc, 3 days of cycling kit (easy to wash over night) , one day of gym kit, plus a sarong ,a raincoat, a pair of shoes and flip flops. By them I only want 2 sets of clothes and I'll wash one pair in sink every night.
Check out Zero Shoes btw.

I also wash my shirt and underwear in the sink every night when I travel.
Works well, unless a moisty climate makes it take a long time to dry, I remember for example in Hanoi and Sichuan.
So choose clothes that will dry easy.
