This guy is Canadian right?
Is it a coincidence that countries with extreme cold weather and mountains tend to be more socialist leaning - the threat of death/humility brings them together more??
Scandinavia apparently has the happiest people on the planet and is a very socialist region. Also down to earth people.
And is The Charming Man really just a grumpy old fascist?

I don't think there is a solution as such, final solutions have a history of being catastrophic failures. It's more a change of direction, the current direction is towards the state having an ever larger footprint in our society. An ever increasing sub-class who are effectively wards of the state and geographic borders for people but not corporations or capital.Felgerkarb wrote:Familiar with the concept. Interesting retelling.
Solution?
The first step is to shrink the size of central government and devolve power (read tax collection) to smaller and smaller populations and geographic areas.
@spitdog
Stefan Molyneux is Irish and was raised in London and moved to Canada as an adult. He is an "Anarcho-Capitalist," meaning that he believes there shoud be no government and only the free market. Curiously, he seemed to be sympathetic to Trump and supported the alt right. He often times talks about the inequality of the sexes and the inequality of races and the need to curtail immigration, a proposal that would seem to contradict his radical political philosophy.
Stefan Molyneux also used to brand himself as the greatest philosopher since Aristotle and encouraged his followers to stop associating with their families if their families did not accept "anarcho-capitalist" philosophy.

Sri Lanka, Laos, Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Bangladesh, India, and Tanzania aren't very cold.s it a coincidence that countries with extreme cold weather and mountains tend to be more socialist leaning - the threat of death/humility brings them together more??

Final Solutions always work if carried all the way through, I.e. Those doing it win. That said, I have always supported a federalist system with power decentralized to local regions, only a small central government.starkmonster wrote:I don't think there is a solution as such, final solutions have a history of being catastrophic failures. He is tired and increasingly impatient of these tired cliché world views - pedalled with glee by self-styled freethinkers on Youtube - where we are portrayed as victims of some imaginary system or plot. It's bollocks. It's lazy student-union debate nonsense. Most of us grew out of it when we started to build lives and pay taxes and take responsibility for our own destinies.
I know I'm unloveable. You don't have to tell me. I don't have much in my life, but take it - it's yours.
Naw, man...that's what the system wants you to think! Don't you get it?? The system, man! This Charming Man wrote:No he isn't.spitthedog wrote:

It's possible that you have escaped the prison of life without even realising you were enslaved. This Charming Man wrote:No he isn't.spitthedog wrote:

You found yourself before you knew you were lost.
Or it's bollocks.
It's probably bollocks.
Actually, I'm sure it's bollocks masquerading as intelligentsia.

I agree, it's all paranoid schizos indulging in delusional fantasies.
Really, whoever heard of obscenely rich people plotting for more ill-gotten monetary gain? Ridiculous idea!

I would never mix with peasants who can only afford $150! Western nouveau riche on a 3rd world country forum etiquette forbids that!

Humans are limited by and enslaved to their Human Condition.. which is just glorified monkeyism. Those who woke up from the Matrix - are no different. They are still monkeys, except they are aware of this fact.
There are no solutions. Expats here - are attempting to find this little gap where relative freedom, some approximation of it exists between the world of 'here' and 'back there'.. But no one leaves the Matrix other than through Death.
His video is nothing new. He touches on all the main points, except one... Life, including human societies - is no conspiracy. It is an ad-hoc project, happening all by itself, randomly. Look how people operate at work, at home, things they do and say.. all of it is done because it seemed like a good idea at the time, and no one has the figgiest idea where it all ends up. We can speculate, in the same way financial markets do, but in the end one angry President's wife or a new school shooting may change the course of history in a blink of an eye, unpredictably and without warning.
My life, as well as the lives of every other being, human or not - are a big cosmic joke. We are all going in the same direction ====> towards the grave or the pyre.
Laugh at it.
It's fun and incomprehensible and uncontrollable.

"Humans are limited by and enslaved to their Human Condition.."
Need for shelter (in most parts of the world)
Need for “clean” water (everywhere)
Need for food (everywhere)
Want for for sex,
Want for sweet (high calorie) things
Like of shiny stuff.
Like of mind altering substances. (for the times the above are sparse.)
It sums up to about the same for everything that is alive, has reproductive organs and eyes.
==>
The reasons for my enslavement.. I never (in caps), ever (also in caps) want to experience .. sleet... again.... ever.. just to be sure..
==> Why I had kids???... One day I think people will be OK.

...Always in my humble opinion...
I love all people, I just don't like them near me.
