Who will take May's seat?
Who will take May's seat?
Her mission is almost complete- a weak Brexit. Perhaps even no Brexit.
A known 'Remain' supporter
She never really ran a campaign to secure victory for the Tories.
Handed victory to Corbyn on a plate.
She is a sceeming, cunning, ruthless plotter- almost on the verge of treason what she has just done.
Who, in their right mind, triggers article 50, then runs a badly thought out election campaign which weakens the government, and ultimately the UK? A traitor.

What utter tripe. She was never a Remainer - if you had any understanding of UK politics or understood her role during the Brexit campaign you would have seen clearly what everyone else saw, that she was a reluctant Remainer. She was almost invisible in the Brexit campaign, for the very good reason she didn't want to campaign for something she didn't believe in. She passively sided with Remain, despite her true views, because she assumed Remain would win and wanted to keep her top position in what she thought would be a relatively long-term Cameron government.

Welcome back Jock Jock. You finally let your guard down.
Call it what you like Marmite.
She had the mandate and the time. She never had to call this election. All she had to do was negotiate a good deal for the UK.
Now she has blown it.
End of March she triggered article 50. Less than three weeks later she called an election without cause.
It is a very plausible theory.

She will form a coalition with the DUP and remain as PM and the Brexit negotiations will start. The end.
(The DUP may cause issues with the whole Brexit thing but I doubt it as that will be the number one caveat that they will have to agree to if they were to form a coalition.)

Marmite, please post some links backing up your quote that May is not a Remain supporter. I have checked out after your quote, but can find nothing.
She is basically a hawk. Sits on the fence waiting to take her prey when the time is right. I give her another 48 hours- right in line with her strategy. She wanted this whole business over by the start of the summer holidays.

Would her entire political history since becoming Tory leader suffice? Yes she is a hawk. A Brexit hawk. Always has been at heart.
She made a massive error. She went to the country hoping and expecting an even stronger mandate so she could push through a hard Brexit and completely got it wrong. its quite hilarious how badly she got it wrong. To position it as deliberate is nonsense.
Or for her views, demeanor and attitude during the Brexit campaign just google May Reluctant Remainer and there are plenty of credible sources, both direct and indirect. Michael Fallon described her in exact those same words in July 2016. She barely campaigned for remain and when she did so it was with the demeanor of someone more inclined to side with Cameron than with any conviction.

Duppers were pro Brexit - shinners were remainers.YaTingPom wrote:She will form a coalition with the DUP and remain as PM and the Brexit negotiations will start. The end.

I think the dup were the only Brexit party in NI.
Yes, but they wrote to May a few months ago outlining their wishes on Brexit and that letter seen in the link below suggests they are in favourite of remaining in the common market and support freedom of movement.

Who would have thought it? We are now in a position where a tiny bunch of bigots, creationists and climate change deniers are likely to be the ones who could put an end to a hard Brexit.

"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
They do - they are very much in favour of remaining in the single market and have no issues with freedom of movement because they need the people. I'm not convinced they will break away though; I suspect they would be more effective staying in the party and using their critical numbers to shape the negotiating positions. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ruth Davidson, the leader of the Scottish Tories, as a future party leader nationally. She is an impressive woman, with principles.ali baba wrote:I hear the Scottish tories prefer a soft brexit and may break away from the tory party.
Hard Brexit is dead in the water.
