I have grave doubts about what the new European GDPR rules have in store.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives EU citizens more rights over how their information is used.
The measure is an effort by EU lawmakers to limit tech firms' powers.
To me, it smacks of another one of those schemes that seem beneficial to consumers on the surface, but carry sinister implications.
Does anyone else have thoughts on this development, which seems to have suddenly come into being after having been warned about for a couple of years?
I'm talking about deeper implications than this, but I would expect an adverse effect on the US stock markets in the short term.
GDPR - sinister undertones?
