He was a little cringey at times but it must be hard being in those situations, always smiling, interatacting, being enthusiastic. I mean. How many times can you say you like something before you run out of words before it turns into a cliche!
Wouldn’t have picked France to top myself although it is quite near Belgium so makes sense.

Just watched the CNN tribute. He seemed to prefer street food, or just unpretentious locals places to fine dining in his later years. Had a noodle soup with Obama in a plastic chair place In Hanoi.
Think i read Marco Pierre White's favorite dish is fish and chips with mushy peas.

Bourdain really, really hated Kissinger:
And:”Once you’ve been to Cambodia, you’ll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bare hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about that treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia – the fruits of his genius for statesmanship – and you will never understand why he’s not sitting in the dock at The Hague next to Milošević.”
“Any journalist who has ever been polite to Henry Kissinger, you know, fuck that person,” he said, his indignation rising. “I’m a big believer in moral gray areas, but, when it comes to that guy, in my view he should not be able to eat at a restaurant in New York.”
I pointed out that Bourdain had made similarly categorical denunciations of many people, only to bury the hatchet and join them for dinner.
“Emeril didn’t bomb Cambodia!” he said.

There are a number of other so-called Nobel Prize winners who should be treated with similar contempt. Milton Friedman springs to mind.
For those of you who might be surprised at my depth of feelings against Friedman, take a look at this:

I'd also recommend Naomi Klein's book: The Shock Doctrine.
