I doubt there are many ice hockey followers here, but the Washington Capitals just won the Stanley Cup, and it's been a big deal in D.C. Before one of the games they even closed down some major streets so that Sting and Shaggy could do a free open air concert (Sting and Shaggy, wtf?).
Anyways, the point of the post is that the MVP of the series Alex Ovechkin is celebrating like a true rock star, and the photos are hilarious. He was doing keg stands out of the cup in public, drunkenly rolling around a water fountain, and the below picture of him going to bed is completely real.

What would you do if you won a championship?
I played Ice Hockey in Melbourne ( many years ago )
I still watch the sport and enjoy the games.
This guy is pissed and revved up but also so mellow about the hole thing.
He's just enjoying the win.
Cheers and good luck to him.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Stops 2 Nations bro. NZ goes quiet too. I have been to Flemington 30 cups. Scoffer refused an invite 2016 when me and dad won 30k between us. Violet also refused invites 2 previous years . They missed out on the time of their lives.RainMan wrote:Never realized how big an event the Stanely Cup is until recently talking to a Canadian about it, it's like our Melbourne Cup where the slogan is 'a race that stops a nation'.
Such is Life. sorry off topic.

New Zealand has a great history in the Cup, include Phar Lap in the line up. Still remember Kiwi winning in the 80's at 10-1 and mates having a 100 on it, big money back then, thought they where nuts.Jep wrote:Stops 2 Nations bro. NZ goes quiet too. Melbourne is buzzing, buzy buzy. RR's rolling downtown, big wigs in town today, im excited, but will be a nervous wreck emotionally this time tomorrow/a mix of emotions.
Melbourne Cup. Just an excuse to drink all afternoon, I don’t think anyone cares about the outcome.Jep wrote:Melbourne is buzzing, buzy buzy. RR's rolling downtown, big wigs in town today, im excited, but will be a nervous wreck emotionally this time tomorrow/a mix of emotions.
The NRC was the other week ago though - bit more exciting.

You are right. The Melbourne Cup is just 24 horses running around in circles. Stop It. It's an event man, the lady hat show and best dressed man awards (i hope to win) just the carnival feel about the place is amazing, like a circus.
Best Circus in Melbourne,..it only happens once a year., could be some bad weather I'll get Rainman to call that off.
I love horses, go anywhere, far better than a 4WD...eats grass.
