Even when only considering sounds the only languages that comes to mind are the languages in Malaysia and Indonesia. I'm very happy that i can speak my local Flemish dialect and Belgian Dutch, helps me a lot here in SEA! Leaving the sentence structure out of it of course, but the sounds, plenty of similarities....
