This happens time to time, but in the past 12 hours I have 10 missed calls from Latvia. They seem to mostly ring for just a second or two. I presume the scam is to call back and be charged some outrageous amount?
Is there any way to get these to stop?

I had 4 of these last night too. I have blocked the number but I don't imagine it will be the same one next time.

I just blocked two numbers from Latvia (one had called seven times), one from Liberia, and one from Belarus. Let's see how long that helps for.ReasonstobefearfulP3 wrote:Miguelito wrote:This happens time to time, but in the past 12 hours I have 10 missed calls from Latvia. I often get these, and I've had a spate of them this week, seemingly coming from all sorts of places, Canada and the States for example.
If I bother answer, there's nearly always a Flip Flop girl on the other end: "Am I talking to meester...."
I assume these people have a way of making it look like the calls are coming from somewhere they are not.
I don't go to networking events much anymore, but I reckon it's giving out business cards at these things that's the problem. I'm very careful who I give mine to now.
They're usually flogging insurance policies.

I don't think it is that, not in this case anyway. Mine is a brand new sim card that only a couple of people know. I only got it to sign up to Iflix as Smart gets 3 months for free.slavedog wrote: I don't go to networking events much anymore, but I reckon it's giving out business cards at these things that's the problem.
so its either the phone company selling data (Smart) or one of the apps/movie streaming sites that I have recently signed up to.
Answer the phone and tell them in an Indian accent that you’re calling from Microsoft support and their computer is broken.
