As Max Hastings describes it in the Times, It's death by a thousand cuts. Not many PMs last long with such weak support. Will have to see if she has enough cabinet support to keep going. Also possible there could be a vote of no confidence. But she's probably OK for Christmas.ReasonstobefearfulP3 wrote:McPhisto wrote:May survives 200-117 and wins the right to keep fighting for the Brexit deal nobody likes. Blame Steve Bannon and the Russians for vote meddling. Those bastards!
I think they should hold another no-confidence vote because maybe many conservatives didn't fully understand what they were voting on the first time and may feel their votes had been stolen. They were bamboozled.
I know she won but having 1 third of the party that has no confidence in you can't be great.
Apparently won the vote by saying she will leave after Brexit and won't stand for re-election

Think he may have meant from the whole of parliament, not a conservative 'confidence vote'Miguelito wrote:Just wake up after a long night out?slavedog wrote: Also possible there could be a vote of no confidence. But she's probably OK for Christmas.

Correct. She is safe from a party vote for 12 months, but not a parliamentary one.ReasonstobefearfulP3 wrote:Think he may have meant from the whole of parliament, not a conservative 'confidence vote'Miguelito wrote:Just wake up after a long night out?slavedog wrote: Also possible there could be a vote of no confidence. No, you know I never drink during the week . Yesterday was the Tory party, and cannot be repeated for a year. But a parliamentary vote can be called by the opposition at any time. The govt cannot stay without the confidence of the people's representatives (the MPs).Miguelito wrote:Just wake up after a long night out?slavedog wrote: Also possible there could be a vote of no confidence. Unlike in the US where you are stuck with your man for 4 years, regardless.

That Rees Moog guy, is that the condescending looking tall dude with a broom up his skinny ass? He looks like the traitor in any old Nazi war movie.Lol Nol wrote:I think he's more a kingmaker than aslavedog wrote:I'd like nothing more. king. He's just too clever and too posh to be acceptable to most.
What about that member of the fast-breeding subspecies we are not allowed to mention, Sajid Javid?
