Personally, I think the number of countries where free/heavily subsidised healthcare has benefitted the population and succeeded far outweigh the few failures.
The brainwashed Trump/unrestrained capitalism supporters (who, for some reason can live better in Cambodia than America, but let's not go there) are ecstatic, simply because the dreaded socialist world seems to have suffered a setback.
I personally think that a country that can afford to spend billions on unnecessary wars every day and give so much money to Israel every day could at least afford to lower costs through subsidies for healthcare and education.
Perhaps they should ask people to prove their income and then pay on a sliding scale, or...horror of horrors...ask Bezos, Zuckerberg and the rest of the top percent to actually pay taxes?
Horrendous idea, I know, and obviously rooted in the worst kind of communism, imagine expecting the super-rich to follow the law.
Jesus, next I'll be expecting the Federal or Sate govts to spend money on the infrastructure!

mmm the tastey right-wing option.
But is it wise to post about it in a thread where John might be inspired to read it?
After all, it's only a short book taking no more than 5 minutes to read. Then where will we be?!

This graph tells all.
Life expectancy on the y axis.
Health care cost as % of gdp on the x axis.
The USA being way over on the right and just over half way up.

Let's see, John read an average a book a day for over 30 years, has an IQ in the mid 150's, and still has no problem reading or comprehending. Let's not talk down to each other OK?Aseriousman wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 12:04 pmmmm the tastey right-wing option.

The subject is health care. As you are an American celebrating the health care woes of Finland, this American feeks it is very much germaine to point out your birther presidents approach to this issue.Johnsell50 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 8:48 amAgain, what does this have to do with Finland's Health care problems. It just seems you are trying to find some way to make Obama a hero. Good luck!
When administrations transition it is best that improvements which benefit everyone are kept, yes? Try and leave things a little better for the next administration. The rest of the western world is living longer for half of what we pay. Donald Trump said last week that Republicans are the health care party. I call bullshit.
Freedom is not a state. It is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau.. Freedom is a continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.-John Lewis

I think this is a project requiring the bell on the cat theory. Since Playboy came up with the idea maybe he should be the one to carry out the solution.Aseriousman wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 12:04 pmmmm the tastey right-wing option.

Then I doubt America can criticise Finland for anything, let alone healthcare.
