April 24th every year mark the anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued the following statement:
“Today, we join Armenian communities in Canada and around the world to honour the memory of the victims of the Armenian genocide, a dark chapter in human history which must never be forgotten.
“Although more than a century has since passed, the memory of those who unjustly lost their lives and suffered reminds us that we must never respond to hatred or violence with indifference.
“As we observe this solemn day and pay tribute to the strength and spirit of the Armenian people, we also look forward to a future built on peace and mutual respect.
“The Government of Canada pays tribute to the victims of this tragedy and reaffirms its commitment to strive for a world in which nobody – regardless of faith or ethnic background – fears discrimination or persecution because of who they are.”

Oh Harold, Harold, Harold, you numpty bellend.
When will you learn that hitting the 'Report' button just does not work when you are reporting a post made by Miggles or Myself - as the 'Report' function just notifies Admin - and who are the Admins on this forum ... that is right, Miggles and Myself ...
Meanwhile, have a happy Armenian Day

"We, the sons of John Company, have arrived"
Who did the Armenians wipe out?
I always found them ok. A bit short and swarthy but good cognac.

Harold, how does my post, which simply quotes the extremely liberal PM of Canada, “contain Turkophobic blood libels and slanderous misinformation that incites ethnic hatred”?Playboy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 10:33 pmOh Harold, Harold, Harold, you numpty bellend.

Surely you of all people can sympathize with a mass murder based on ethnicity?

A “civil war”.
But, as of 2019, governments and parliaments of 30 countries, including Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Russia, as well as 49 states out of 50 of the United States (and Congress itself), have recognized the events (such as the death march) as a genocide.
Then US Ambassador Morgenthau wrote that
"The real purpose of the deportation was robbery and destruction; it really represented a new method of massacre. When the Turkish authorities gave the orders for these deportations, they were merely giving the death warrant to a whole race; they understood this well, and, in their conversations with me, they made no particular attempt to conceal the fact."
And even Atatürk stated “These leftovers from the former Young Turk Party, who should have been made to account for the lives of millions of our Christian subject who were ruthlessly driven en masse from their homes and massacred, have been restive under Republican rule.“.
I like it. That's how the US should label the treatment of Native American tribes by European settlers in the New World from now on. None of this "slaughter" and "genocide" and "land-stealing" bit. It was a civil war, it was! An equal choice to go to war by both sides of an internal, national conflict. What say you, Harold?
