I was reading about Tibet in 1973 (which is 2100 or 1719 or 947 (female water-ox) in the Tibetan calendar wiki tells me.) Anyway, it got me thinking about this game of war.
I hadn’t been aware off Tibets standing in Asia back in the time of the Three Great Kings, nor if the petty infighting that came about during the time of the 41st king, who suppressed Buddhism. There was a lack of strong central government as a result of rivalries between the kings sons and the splitting of the country “into petty principalities” (taken from the link below).
The situation made it easy for the Chinese communists to invade Tibet.
Fast forward to the twentyteens and Australia has been mocked for its rotating leadership and petty infighting, the UK is an utter mess.
Who might be watching on with glee and, perhaps Making Plans for Nigel? (In the UK). Will he be helped along like it is asserted Trump was?
Anyway, if you don’t know much about Asian history, I will leave the link about Tibet and China here.

The Chinese didn't invade Tibet. They liberated the region and ended slavery and feudalism and modernized the region. Tibet had languished under oppressive rule for centuries and it has only been in modern times that their future looks bright. Of course there are religious extremists, reactionaries, and separatists who are trying to undermine the legitimacy of the Chinese government but they will never be able to break the intimate relationship between the Tibetans and the Han. They are of the same blood and their relationship is closer than teeth to lips.
I don't care what the Dalai Lama says because he is the Buddhist equivalent of Bin Laden.

It's incredible how these Western Lite Buddhists like Richard Gere portray Tibet as a peaceful Shangri-La. The Tibetans were known as mercenaries and warriors for centuries. The Dalai Lama was supported by a CIA- funded and supported army. One of the CIA operatives working there was none other than Tony Poe (Anthony Poshepny) who later became infamous for offering bounties for heads of Pathet Lao and sending ears to his COs in Vientiane.

I was lucky enough to travel over land from Katmandu to Lhasa in 1996.
My recollection of what I saw does not suggest China liberated Tibet in any way at all.
I saw multiple Temples and Monasteries being bulldozed and turned into rubble.
I watched local populations being forcefully removed from their family land, houses bulldozed and the Chinese would then come in and take over the land.
There were strong rumors ( on an international level ) that women were being forced to have abortions and women who went into hospital to give birth were being sterilized without their consent. I cannot confirm if this was true - but I did meet two mothers with children under 12 months old who claimed to of been sterilized without their consent after complications with the delivery, they do not know what the complications were, all they knew was they were sedated after birth and told upon awaking told that complication had occurred.
We had hired a 4WD and driver in Nepal, the fixer we used got us permits, visa's and a VIP card of some sort to allow us to enter Tibet and we were in country for a total of 3 weeks.
For two weeks we had complete freedom to wander across the country, we could go anywhere we wanted and stay where ever we could find a bed, at the start of week 3 the Chinese spooks found us and could not understand how we managed to get into the country, we were then instructed to go to Lhasa kept under constant surveillance until we caught out flight out.
So in my opinion - Tibet needs to be Liberated from China.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

A friend went to Lhasa in the early '80s and said Chinese soldiers had taken up residence in the Potala Palace. She also said CCTV was everywhere on tall poles.
It's fair to say the Tibetans have suffered miserably by China's 'liberation policy'.

When I read the title of this thread I was expecting it to be about a Khmer440 shareholder meeting.
Harold the socialism-hating Injun seems to have nothing but undying love for the Chinese Communist Party dictatorship that locks away a million Uighurs on "reservations" for being Muslim, doesn't allow Chinese citizens to vote for their own leaders, and severely restricts access to information on the internet so their 1.4 billion captives don't get any funny ideas about that awful democracy or revolution or uprising or Tienanmen Square.
