An amazing upset at Madison Square Garden, as Mexican Andy Ruiz destroyed British Anthony Joshua. Keep your eye on the ball...

Yep, I was certainly surprised.

Mexican?
Yeah, he’s not Scottish or Irish but the other top grade fighter from Mexico. Saul Alverez.

Lots of white Mexicans. They've even got Mormons. You know, like the White Mexican Romney Mormons.
I’m sure there are (don’t what the Romney reference is, probably political) but how many gingers?kansaicanuck wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 5:23 pmLots of white Mexicans. They've even got Mormons. You know, like the White Mexican Romney Mormons.
He looks Scots or Irish. It’s what I’d imagine LL looks like. That and a mix of Father Jack from Father Ted.

The heavyweight division is an absolute embarrassment; maybe I'm watching re-runs of Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, heck even Bruno and the level of fitness is astounding, along with the quality of boxing. Nowadays we're treated to blokes who look like they just fell out of a bar & fancied a fight.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be in a ring with beer gut Ruiz, nor the beer gut gypsy, nor swinger Wilder - but it is really depressing to watch a pub fight dressed up as the biggest boxing event of the year. Pretty boy Joshua got absolutely served - and the way he spat his gum shield out and then expected the ref to give him more recovery time was a joke; his face when the ref called it was brilliant ... "but I'm champion of the world, I've got rights!", no son, you got spanked.

Not really that political. It's an interesting story for sure - probably not a lot of gingers I would agree.YaTingPom wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 9:39 amI’m sure there are (don’t what the Romney reference is, probably political) but how many gingers?kansaicanuck wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 5:23 pmLots of white Mexicans. How many boxing world champs are there at any given time? Featherweight (no one cares about), middle weight (no one cares about), and heavyweight?
Not even close.
