New UK PM is Boris Johnson
Boris Johnson is way worse than anticipated. Sacking the 21 was the dickest move in Tory history.
Too bad the opposition has zero chance while this rabid marxist is at the helm.
Why aren't libdems gaining more traction?

The people who should really be in chicken suits are, of course, the Brexiters as they are cowards not wanting another democratic referendum in case it goes against them.
Up the workers!
Interesting you should say that, I'm actually beginning to think that might well happen now, could be the only way to escape this impasse. I expect Leave would win again.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:03 amThe people who should really be in chicken suits are, of course, the Brexiters as they are cowards not wanting another democratic referendum in case it goes against them.

Because they have nailed their flag to the remain mast. Most people want to leave. Perhaps you didn't hear about it but we had a referendum on this very subject a couple of years ago.

After three terms of Thatcher, it certainly wouldn't surprise me. But, you were wrong about the no deal Tories caring more about their seats than their principals.slavedog wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:18 amInteresting you should say that, I'm actually beginning to think that might well happen now, could be the only way to escape this impasse. Small point: every time I was called " Chicken " as a kid, it was because I wouldn't do something staggeringly stupid that would likely lead to arrest, injury or death. I'm personally very found of the word chicken. It reassures me that I'm doing something right. You ?.

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is trying to game the system. When you have no majority the days of dictating to parliament are long gone. There will be an election when it suits the opposition. When they have an extension and when the millions of young Labour supporters have registered to vote. Then we'll have an election. Until then he can continue embarrassing himself whenever he opens his mouth. Too arrogant to even prepare a speech,
Yes, that did surprise me. Would be interested to know how many of them are due to retire at the next election, not that it really matters much now.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:32 amAfter three terms of Thatcher, it certainly wouldn't surprise me. McPhisto wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 2:14 amSo after literally years of opposition MPs, including Corbyn about a thousand times, demanding a snap election to "let the British people have their say", and Boris Johnson then calling for a snap election... what happens? The entire left howls and now absolutely rejects a snap election because "it's just a distraction and a ploy to prevent the will of the people to overturn Brexit".
Fucking hell what happened to you Brits? A nation of hysterical yammering cuckolds.
It’s quite simple. Johnson isn’t to be trusted. He wants an election because it would mean closing down parliament and that would allow him to leave with No Deal with no opposition to prevent it.
The opposition alliance will let him have an election, but only after 31 October.
It’s a good tactic. He will have been forced by law to either extend article 50 or resign. Either way he will have failed in his efforts and that will be a boon to the Brexit Party. The thinking is that Brexit and Tories will eat into each other’s votes, thus paving the way for a Lib/Lab coalition.
Not saying that will happen, but it is clearly the plan.
Or, according the Times analysis today, he could just ignore the law.Dallow Spicer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 2:35 pmIt’s a good tactic. He will have been forced by law to either extend article 50 or resign.
Or he could make a change in strategy. How about requesting an extension, but making it known that the UK will veto everything it can until they're out? Perhaps the EU would refuse to grant the extension.
On a light note, there's a pretty funny moment in the first episode of the new series of Travels With My Father when, on a wall outside a cafe where customers are invited to write a thing they are grateful for, the old man scrawls 'BREXIT'.

Say what you like about Boris, but at least he knows the difference between a principal and a principle. That's one advantage of being educated at Eton.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:32 am

You don't need to have been educated at Eton to know that. A grammar school education will suffice.fapsara wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 3:12 pmSay what you like about Boris, but at least he knows the difference between a principal and a principle. Well spotted. Or maybe I was talking about the money they stand to lose in a hard Brexit scenario.fapsara wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 3:12 pmSay what you like about Boris, but at least he knows the difference between a principal and a principle. You missed the other mistake though

MP Joe Cox died because of her opposition to Brexit. She was murdered by a white supremacist in the final week of a peaceful campaign to persuade people to remain. The main face of the Pro Brexit campaign was Boris Johnson. Boris Johnson is now saying that the best way to honour her memory is to complete Brexit, the very thing she died fighting against.
He's also saying, that if Mp's want to feel " safe " they also need to get Brexit done.
I don't have the words for the level of disgust I'm feeling for the man who is currently, supposedly the UK Prime Minister.
Mr Charisma my Fuckin Arse.
