Cheesy, you are really typical of the Remain voter who did not bother to think Brexit through.
It was crystal clear from day one what would happen. If you do not read the reports and study the markets etc. that is your problem. Why didn't your Remain group explain all of this to you? The information was there, all you had to do was read it.
The long drawn out exit is entirely the fault of MPs (all sides) who would not vote through a deal and continue to muddy the waters.
The biggest joke is the David Cameron's deal with the EU was better then Mays. If the Remain group had run a better campaign then we would have stayed in. Blame your own side for that.

Sleep, those little slices of death — how I loathe them.
You really could not make this shit up.
Appointed on August 10th 2019----- RICHARD BRAINE is the new leader of UKIP
So now we have Dick Braine as a political leader in the UK.
Is he any relation to Bojo, I wonder ?.

Give Logos a break. He's from Belgium so can hardly be expected to be acquainted with the concept of national pride.
True story: my local pub, which dates back to 1541, is called The King Of The Belgians. For a few years it was renamed 'The Traitors Arms', a response to the Belgian collaboration with Hitler.

You can't blame one person for a whole country's mistakes. Having said that, would it be too much to hope for if one of North Korea's missile tests went a bit slanty-eyed and ended up in a certain stadium near Hong Kong.

I would have more sympathy if you said French but it's close enough.
Sad that is the British who created Belgium. See the thanks we get?

All I know is that we got fed up with the Dutch, rightfully kicked them out and gained our independence. A bit like the Scots will do with those ignorant toff Brits in a few months after Brexit.TheGrimReaper wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:23 pmI take it you did not study European history at school?Chneseexpat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 8:14 pm

You are aware that the Scots are also Brits?

I always thought we invented Belgium so some unemployed obscure royal relative would have something to do all day being king of it. An early form of job creation, if you will.

then it's time to get some private health insurance or find somewhere cheaper to live, just like everyone else in the world has to!EIKROY wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 5:24 amMr Reaper, just imagine you're a 70 year old couple who retired to Spain 10 years ago with state pensions and your healthcare ,which is covered by UK/ EU National Insurance contributions. ( EHIC ). But In the last 3 years your pensions has fallen from 1,700 Euros pm to 1,430 Euros pm, AND, if there's a NO DEAL your healthcare costs will be estimated at 340 Euros pm.

The Romans took over the part of the country known by them as Belgium. Distinct from the marshy lands
(modern day Netherlands), and inhabited by war like hill tribes that thought they could take on the Romans. They couldn't. That become the first division of that rough area into two distinct parts. From just about then on, the Spanish owned it and tried many times unsuccessfully to take over what we know as The Netherlands today. The Belgians were royalists, and sided with the Spanish over their neighbours every time. The Dutch were democrats, and had at least two poor people on every council.
Not so simple as to explain in a paragraph though.
XxBelgium was a name chosen when the modern country was created, but it has a long history. It is originally a classical name, used by Julius Caesar, which continued to be used occasionally in different ways until the creation the modern country. However, while Caesar described the Belgian part of Gaul as a larger area, much bigger than modern Belgium, including large parts of modern France, Germany and the Netherlands, he only used the term "Belgium" to refer to a smaller core area now in Northern France, where the tribes ruling the Belgian military alliance lived. Under Roman rule this region was the basis of the province of Belgica Secunda, which stretched into the coastal Flemish part of modern Belgium.
