Argue in circles about British politics thread
FFS. How has The UK gone from The Sunlit Uplands, Unicorns, Land Of Hope And Glory and the easiest trade deals in human history to having to stockpile fuckin toilet rolls ?.

Andrex toilet tissue? That's a luxury Brits won't be able to afford for a while after a no deal BREXIT. It will be back to the 60s and sanding your arse clean with Izal medicated bog roll. The thick paper stuff kids used to use for tracing. Remember? It used to spread the shit around your arse instead of wiping it clean.

Alternatively one could use The Daily Mail, The Sun, Express, Telegraph.
Happy days ahead I'm sure.

One needs to remember that this whole BREXIT thing is nothing more than a Conservative made and managed charade aided by the media who have been cashing in on it in the same way as the shorts traders.
As an example of reality, I offer this:
A YouGov analysis of 300 surveys shows firm evidence that Britain has turned against Brexit since 2016.
One of the most striking findings is that 204 out of 226 polls since July 2017 have shown remain ahead, with just seven for leave, and 15 ties.
So far this year, just one poll in the series has put Leave ahead, compared to 74 for staying in the EU.
17.4 million blah blah blah
The people have spoken blah blah blah
The people against parliament blah blah blah

Are there any of you who are willing to still put their hand up and say they support these Tory shower of cunts?

Oh, yes. And every one of your pathetically asinine and tedious posts induces me to desire the alternative a little bit less.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 7:43 amAre there any of you who are willing to still put their hand up and say they support these Tory shower of cunts?
Do have another nice week posting to yourself about Brexit.

At least my posts are restricted to a backwater forum and not plastered all over the world's media like your heroes of the modern age's pathetically assinine posts are.slavedog wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 7:57 amOh, yes. Academic think-tank The UK in a Changing Europe found that Mr Johnson’s proposal would see national income per capita drop to 6.4 per cent lower than it would be by staying in the EU – the equivalent of £2,000 per person in the UK.
If the UK left the EU on the terms of Ms May’s deal, the effects would less severe, with income per capita 4.9 per cent lower – or £1,500 per person.
But Mr Johnson’s plan would be significantly better than a no-deal Brexit. The analysis found that leaving on World Trade Organisation terms would hit income per capita by 8.1 per cent – £2,500 per person.
The research concluded that all three Brexit scenarios “would reduce UK living standards compared to staying in the EU”.
“The hit to the UK public finances could be up to £50 billion a year. However, these could in part be mitigated by a more liberal immigration policy.”
this report shows Boris Johnson is trying to railroad through a Brexit plan that would have a devastating impact on living standards, funding for public services, businesses and jobs or the rest of the United Kingdom too. This report shows income per capita will be £2,000 lower as a result of Boris Johnson's deal. That is £2,000 a year less for every man woman and child in the UK, as trade and productivity drops."
Downing Street declined to comment.

Out of curiosity, could you give me some examples of some well-known "modern thinkers" who voted to remain because all of the "modern thinkers"' that I watch, listen to and personally know, all voted to leave the E.U.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 7:43 amAre there any of you who are willing to still put their hand up and say they support these Tory shower of cunts?

I don't like the EU 100%. The bit I don't like is the free market side. If Corbyn manages to defy the odds and gets into office, I'm pretty sure he and the EU would come to loggerheads on certain economic issues.
But i have to weigh that up against the Conservative record on worker's rights, health care, social security, pensions, access to justice, holding tax avoiders and off shore bankers to account, etc etc etc. On all these issues the vast majority of the UK is better off in the EU.
The economy will be hit very badly if the UK leaves, deal or no deal. And this at a time of Tory led austerity which has seen schools underfunded and staffed ( no, not Eaton or the other private schools), the NHS severely underfunded and understaffed; along with pensions, social security, access to justice etc undermined.
For the majority of UK citizens we are much much better off remaining in the EU.
And that before even considering the Irish problem.
I can only laugh when I hear the Tories pledging things like hundreds of more police when they have recently cut thousands.

Where is TGR btw? I know he has serious health issues but he's got to stick around until after Christmas to honour his losing bet .
Seriously I hope the old bastard's all right, for the sake of diversity.
Plus he's slavedog's only fan here, that should count for something.

The poster LuckyLucan saw him off. As much as I disagreed with him, he didn't deserve that.logos wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 11:00 amWhere is TGR btw? I know he has serious health issues but he's got to stick around until after Christmas to honour his losing bet .
