Independence monument work?

This is a free speech zone where you can discuss and debate everything Cambodia related whether you're a dyed in the wool leftist, a liberal or somewhere to right of Attila the Hun. This is also where you get to read the news the local media suppresses.

Independence monument work?

What's going on at the Independence Monument? A lot of rubble around, as well as the metal screens they put up last week.

Maybe they are knocking that old Molyvann rubbish down and replacing it with something more appropriate, like this:

Poofing it up for ASEAN. Same same Wat Phnom. Homeless, beggars and scruffy-looking types will be cleared out soon. Careful now.

I think the official name is "Wat Phnom Resort," unless there is another place I'm unaware of, but all the road signs point to it, lol...

A few days ago they renovated Russian Boulevard (Confederation de la Russie). Absurd. Perfectly good road, but OMG, those ASEAN officials might not like the two bumps jus before Nehru. This country really knows how to manage its priorities.

The drive from the airport now is very salubrious.
The ashphalt is new and smooth, the median fence is great, except when knocked down by speeding lexcies.
ASEAN members will be impressed, burma will have to lift their game to compete.
Where will the meetings be held?

Sounds like a fair swap, we've been planning on hiring buses to give you ours :-)

It's in Oslo. Made by Gustav Vigeland. It's in a huge park packed with strange statues like that one..
