Thank christ I work occasionally in the building game where we call a spade a fucking shovel and just get on with it. No playing on the internet on the building site and no dress code either-thank fuck.

There's a moustachioed Italian builder in dungarees who might have something to say about that!

I can just imagine cambodians queueing up to buy an engine oil additive. They are just so concerned about vehicle maintenance-money is no object.

I also forgot to add (one of) the classic quotes from the boss, "We do not need to follow The Labour Law, because we are a Private Company" ...
"We, the sons of John Company, have arrived"

another one of his quotes; [talking about some new staff that had resigned in under 3 months] "If new staff leave in under two years, they should have to pay back all the salary I give them"

Could that be enforced in Cambodia, if it was written into the employee's contract? (ie, signed as they were hired, not applied retroactively..)

The Labour Law is basically useless if ever used properly as it gives about quarter of the year in holidays and all the rules are suited for labourers or factory workers in the early 90's. Mostly irrelevant for actual "business" businesses.
