The Monk’s Tail
Thursday, 26th April, 2012, 8:39H
Kampong Cham Province: A 31 year old Bhikku monk (a rank higher than a សាមណេរ or novitiate), quartered at a temple compound in the Chikor Commune of Tboung Khmoum District was caught flagrante delicto in a discrete sexual encounter with a well preserved 45 year old woman of Chinese Cambodian extraction from Chob 1 Village, Chob Commune, Tboung Khmoum District. The woman’s husband had arrived home suddenly at 8 in the morning of the 23rd of April, at the time she and her monk lover were actively making love. The unexpected arrival panicked the petrified monk into running off stark naked and holing up in the attic. But he would not escape the furious assault of the enraged husband on the pair of them later on.
From the account of a police official guarding the Chob Rubber Plantation, the Koh Santepheap learned that the monk had arrived by motodop at the front of the woman’s home shortly after her husband had left for a coffee, before furtively entering the house to be alone with the woman. Without speculating on what they were doing together, unexpectedly the husband returned. Taken by surprise, the monk in a funk ran off stark naked to hide in the attic. At first the husband, arriving home, was struck only by a peculiar smell that was not familiar to the environs of his home. Then he noticed the monk’s habit lying about. After searching about the house for a while, he suddenly espied his wife clutching the monk’s habit - with the intention of hiding it from him, then later burning it. Unable to overcome his gnawing suspicions of something seriously amiss, the wife’s husband conducted another search of the house. At the end of it, he clambered up to investigate the attic of the bedroom. There he espied the monk sworn to Buddha, who had previously had communications with his wife (in the capacity of monk), stark naked and shaking from fear.
The police official at the Chob Rubber Plantation stated that the man’s wife was attired solely in a knotted sarong. This was damning proof that the woman was having an adulterous affair with the monk. In an uncontrollable fury, the husband then phoned police to have the transgressing monk taken away to the provincial police station to be dealt with through the legal system.
As an editorial note, the chief prelate of Tboung Khmoum District was spotted arriving the same morning to diffuse the situation. The monk was subsequently defrocked and handed over to authorities. According to a statement made by the woman’s husband, just the money alone that his wife spent on the monk amounted to not less than $10,000. No information was divulged, however, on what the money had been spent on, or for how long the immoral love affair had been carrying on.
Major Heang Hoot, Chief of Police of Tboung Khmoum District, asserted that the husband was unrelenting, refused to compromise, and only sought punitive legal action. But after it was explained to him that if the monk was arrested, his wife would be implicated and sent to jail as well, the husband backed right off. He would not press charges. With profound compassion and forgiveness, the cuckolded husband made the decision to reconcile with his wife and to continue as a family together with their 3 children, in spite of the hateful scandal that had rocked it.

The husband behaved more like a monk should than the real monk.
Sounds like a good man.

Vlad, I cannot believe you you are accepting as a "Fact" any comment made in this paper, after the interview - the guy went ape-shit, stabbed the monk in the eye with a broom and chopped his wife in the neck until it looked like she had fish gills.

But of course they could not say that, so they said he forgave her and lived happily ever after.

My life would be way simpler if calling the police was the result of any impulsive action. But soooo boring.

Cleavers have a certain...je ne sais quoi about them. So...cultural
