Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at border?I'm thinking of overstaying my visa- it will only be a matter of (probably) 3-4 days and certainly no longer than a week. I will be leaving by the Poipet border into Thailand. I haven't overstayed before. Would I be correct that it makes more sense just to pay the $5/day at the border when leaving, rather than shelling out $42 for another extension here in PP? 3-4 days should cost me $15-20 if they don't want anything "extra." Opinions appreciated; from my searches it seems that overstaying is not a major problem if you are happy to pay the fine. Any downsides? Is Poipet OK for applying just the straight fee (I don't mind an extra dollar; I have heard Koh Kong is bad.)
Re: Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at borThe downside would be if u had any issues (run-ins worth the law) IN Cambodia while u were u were on ur expired visa here. Once u make it to the border i think U're fine.
Personally, i avoid overstays at all costs, but if I had to choose one country to do it in, this would be the one...
Re: Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at borPut the correct money, five dollars a day, in your passport and hand over to the stamping out officer,
with a smile, no problems.
Re: Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at borMany thanks for the reassurances guys. I will plan on staying out of trouble with the law...
Re: Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at borquick question regarding overstay. Is it the same for a Thai passport where they are given 15 days on entry.
than $5/day for overstay and if u leave at the airport would there be any trouble or problem? "In a nation ruled by swine, all pigs are upwardly mobile—and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely." HST

Re: Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at borNo. You overstay, you pay 5USD for the first 30 days, 6USD for the following ones. No difference whether you leave from an airport or overland or whether they 'catch' you or not.
Re: Overstay visa for less than week- renew in PP/pay at borI recently left Cambodia via Koh Kong overstaying my tourist visa by four days. Nobody bothered and I didn't pay.
