Kiwi bakery on the move

Postby dv8inpp » Mon Jul 02, 2012 10:52 am

The Kiwi bakery is relocating from the riverfront to somewhere south. Leaving a nice big corner building. Makes getting their loaves of bread somewhat more difficult.

Killer location. The rent must be outrageous. Great spot for the Burger King maybe.

They can relocate to the moon for all I care. Their food is total pants.

Isn't there some poetic justice here? I remember astory about ownership, in the dim and distant past. The food sucks. The bread is good, but Fresco is better value, especially after 6pm.

I think it was 2002 or 2003. I remember the old location, it was next to one of the most awful refurbs ever of a beautiful colonial building. Made me wish they'd knocked it down.

Two Swiss Germans have taken the lease and are opening "The Pattaya Pub".

Rent is astounding.

Deep joy. Just what the riverside needs - a pair of europrowlers.
