I heard early this morning that he was killed in a robbery last night.
Can anyone confirm this robbery theory?
Some people say he had his throat cut, others are saying he was shot in his apt behind the Ginger Monkey.
Whatever the fuck happened, this is completely fucked.
Dave was a top bloke, a real character, and is going to be sorely missed by everyone whose life he touched. Shit, I was only talking to him late yesterday afternoon on the riverside...
My sincere condolonces go out to those closest to him in this very difficult time.

Wrong person. My condolences go to the family and friends of the deceased too.
His Mythical Dude Blog was great with tons of cool pictures. I gather he was a guitar player too. This is a real shame!
It was David who was killed and I think I can speak on behalf of all the 440 team in saying that he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. He was a good guy who did not deserve this.

British bar owner murdered in Cambodia
Feb 22, 2006, 9:03 GMT
Phnom Penh - Cambodian police had arrested a teenager for the murder of a popular British bar owner in an attack which also left the man's New Zealand girlfriend seriously injured, authorities said Wednesday.
David Alan Mitchell, 36, of Walsall, England, and his girlfriend Jane Mary Nye, 28, of Ashburton, New Zealand, were entering Mitchell's Ginger Monkey bar through a back alley entrance late Tuesday evening when they were attacked from behind by at least one Cambodian male wielding a long, curved knife, police said.
Police said they had arrested Tong Chen, 18, for the attack and believed Chen had first attacked Mitchell, fatally wounding him with stabs to the neck and body before turning on Nye and stabbing her seriously in the neck and cheek.
They said they now believed robbery was the motive despite earlier ruling it out because Mitchell had been found in possession of nearly 1,500 dollars after his death.
'The boy who attacked them loves yaba (methamphetamines). But after taking his statement, I think he wanted to rob them but got scared when the girl screamed and ran before he could look for money,' a police officer who declined to be named said.
Police also arrested two associates of Chen after the killing but later released them. Chen was apprehended by police covered in blood as he fled the scene past a number of other popular bars in the area.
Nye was evacuated to Bangkok for further medical treatment but is believed to be in a serious but stable condition, police said.
The Ginger Monkey bar is located within Phnom Penh's river strip, an area favoured by tourists.
Ginger Monkey, which was mentioned in the latest Lonely Planet backpacking guide, is a popular late-night hangout for young travellers.
The British Embassy could not be contacted for comment.
The attack highlights concerns voiced by local media and internet websites in recent months that increasing drug use and frequent electricity blackouts in the area were contributing to a rise in violent crime.
