neem leaf oil
Neem oil comes from the seeds , not the leaves , there are Neem trees here , and I am sure I have heard
of them being grown commercially here also , the Cambodian name is kadao .

Got mites on your plants? I know neem oil is manufactured in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, so perhaps you can find a vendor through alibaba.com . I used neem oil and orange oil for before I discovered food-grade diatomaceous earth. A few ounces of DE will do the trick for a 50' x 50' canopy and you can use it all the way through the final weeks of flowering. Amazon.com will ship it to Cambodia, I think. It really works and I even use it for flea control on my dog and my cat.
That's like, your opinion, man.

aaah Neem...the wonderful Azadirachta indica...jimbardo you are correct, it is called sdao in Khmer...it is quite widespread in the Cambodian countryside...it is a terrific multi-functional plant...the oil does come from fruit and seeds...what are you using the oil for?
...it really is a great tree to have around the place...besides the oil, here are some other uses :
-twigs make excellent toothpicks, or split a twig to make it more brush like...or just chew a piece...it works!
-neem is found as ingredient in toothpaste
-shoots and flowers are edible
-make neem leaf tea for use on plants...it is effective both as fertiliser and pesticide!
-cosmetics
-fibre from the bark for making ropes
...all in all a real beauty of a tree
"The land where the neem tree abound, can death, disease there be found?"
Indian proverb

There are still trees in Cambodia, when many families don't even have an SUV or seven iPads?sattroni wrote:Neem oil comes from the seeds , not the leaves , there are Neem trees here , and I am sure I have heard

I get mine down at my local hydroponics shop, but Amazon carries it in various quantities. You'll also need an applicator like this:jimbardo wrote: @ WWhite where did you get this food-grade diatomaceous earth?
cheers

Some spider mites here in California have evolved in indoor grow environments and are immune to pyrethrum sprays and mitricidal soaps, oils etc. Some hydro stores are contaminated super-mite reservoirs, so you can pick up some pretty nasty critters that will shrug off pyrethrum bug-bombs and most anything else you can throw at them. For a full on infestation, I'll use Floramite and Azamax and then change up with Avid to kill off the second hatching. This cocktail runs $300+ a quart for each part, but you'll only need a 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water and a quart bottle will be enough to fill up a crop dusting plane.
I tried a sulfur burner a few years back, it killed off a powdery mildew infection and the mites, but it didn't take out the eggs and so I was re-infested within a few days. I don't think it's possible to be completely mite free and organic, at least not where I live.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but can't find this info anywhere else...even Google translate
Can someone spell the word for "neem oil" and/or "neem tree" in Khmer so I can show it to the garden store lady? Thanks

Tiny Kampot Pillows sells it. I guess they would probably put a bottle or few on the bus for you if you can't find it elsewhere.
