Same. Quite unfortunate.Username Taken wrote:Very sad news.
Never met him, but he was always high on my list of 'posters I'd most like to meet'.

What a loss. Henning will be missed. I knew he was ill, but not that it was serious. I planned on writing an email this week asking if he wanted (we all know his passion for fine wine an good food..) a bottle of something fom Italy to aid his recovery..
A sad day.
A sad day.
Fat people are harder to kidnap..
He was a dear friend. I only met up with him once a year when I was in Phnom Pneh, but he was such a great guy. I really cannot believe he is gone...

Henning and I were in the habit, over the last year or two, of catching up for a couple of beers whenever he was in Siem Reap or I was in Phnom Penh. This wasn't nearly often enough, and I can't say that I knew him as well as I would've liked to. I knew something was up when he hadn't responded to emails the last few weeks, which was very unlike him, and I've been dreading seeing a thread like this ever since I learned he was seriously ill. I'm very sad to hear of his passing -- as I'm sure many others will be here in SR, where he was a very well-known and well-liked member of the local expat community from a few years back. RIP mate.

I'm in shock. Henning was always my favorite; even before I moved to Cambodia he helped me on the LP forums getting my visa information sorted. Once I met him in real life I liked him even more. I always got such a kick out of his sense of humor and he was always willing to help me out whenever I needed anything. I'm so sad to hear this, I really can't believe it.

Indeed, the sentiments expressed reveal how deeply your presence shall be missed. His was the voice of reason and authority, like an elder statesman informed by vast experience and confident satisfaction from a life lived well. RIP
I think you send his sister a link to this thread.....andyinasia wrote:If anyone has any contact details re. Henning's professional and personal life, I'd appreciate a PM or two. I knew him well enough socially, but never prized into those areas.

I will never forget Henning saying he jumped in the moat outside Angkor Wat because someone dared him to do it!

I think they belong to Mr. Ezecom, a good friend of Henning's.

Sorry I never had the chance to meet him, but had hoped to, based on what he wrote, and radiated...
