k440, something to do when you're pissed.
School for Future Leaders is hosting a 6 week TESOL course beginning this week. English will be at 12.30pm to 3:00pm. Total price is $200. The address is #17 St. 528 and 287 across from Western University near Long Beach Plaza Hotel. The instructor is a licensed US Teacher with a Masters Degree in ESL.
If you are intersted stop by before Friday or Saturday morning to register.

As a rule of thumb, just avoid fucking teaching in this country. My experience thus far has been ridiculously surprising, in a negative sense.
I'd go as far to say avoid this country altogether.

Some of the best teachers are those who have had the worse learning experiences/environments themselves.angsta wrote:Satan ™ wrote:as well as avoiding Beltei like the plague i would also advise DO NOT WORK FOR E.L.T, it's fine if you like getting paid late, teaching complete mind numbing books to a bunch of inept, nouvo riche dicks, working with a complete bunch of fuck wits (thats the khmers and Foreign staff) and being employed by a family who i wouldnt piss on if they were on fire, they wont even buy paper for christ sake, i had to literally go round the corner and buy my own blank paper to have things i wanted photocopied, and even then it seemed like a great deal of hassle for them to do it for me.
I met a guy from Kent who worked for E.L.T. and who claimed, no boasted to have spent much of his youth (16-19) in a young offenders centre. Had some nice borstal tattoos. Lovely guy, seemed like a really great teacher.
Nothing but an opinionated tourist. The Pope spends more time in countries than I do ! It is also not my place to comment on a gentleman's dress. A real 23 minute wonder, that obviously knows little about ovens and cooking in Cambodia.

I keep saying this: teaching is fine - just don't work for any place either owned or managed by Khmers.ActionAction wrote:As a rule of thumb, just avoid fucking teaching in this country. My experience thus far has been ridiculously surprising, in a negative sense.
