OneTV has now launched
Hi just wondering if any cable providers has cricket on their sports channels or if any of them have the indian star sports or ten cricket? Also that indian national channel had the icc world cup on last year, does anyone know which one has that?
We signed up for OneTv and their initial 3 month offer for $20 including box and quite a few channels. It was OK at first - temporary interruptions and blank screens, but just about usable. Over the last 2 months though it has become utterly shit - every time a car or moto drives in front of our house, the signal cuts and everything either freezes or breaks up so that you can no longer see what's happening. Where I live, that means just about every 2-3 minutes. Added to that the fact that every day for at least some of the time, all of the channels are scrambled and it's become a joke - we didn't even bother turning it on for the last few weeks the package was valid.
We have now returned to PPTV, which has a far worse selection of channels, but is a thousand times more consistent. I wouldn't bother with OneTV if you're thinking about changing over - you really do get what you pay for.

TEN Cricket is available on PPCTV digital, but they do not have live coverage or replays of matches played in England, Australia or India. That eliminates most of the good ones, unless you are a South Africa, Pakistan or Sri Lanka fan.

Can you have one TV on One and another on PPCTV? We just need one for the missus to enjoy her stupid dubbed voices in a sound-proofed room while I watch proper TV.
Do you really have a sound-proofed room?
If so, how'd you sound proof it?
Sounds a big problem out here in Asia, you know.

Thanks Gilmore, I had a look on the PPCTV website and didnt see ten cricket listed although I dont know how reliable the site is, I assume it is inculded in the sports package? It is a shame the ashes wont be on, will have to watch at Paddys or online.

Any update on OneTV? Have they gotten better? I'm wondering if I should get PPCTV, CCTV or OneTV. If I understand correctly, OneTV has no cable? Does it use an hdmi cable or something (even though probably nothing is in HD) like box sets in the west? Or do they mean no cable runs from the ground, but you get an antenna, and then a normal cable to the TV? If I recall correctly, CCTV doesn't have as many western-friendly channels, but I think most providers show roughly the same channels. Which company should I choose? I think PPCTV is a bit pricier than both CCTV and Onetv (given their installation fee).

I was wondering if OneTV was still going - hadn't heard a word about them in many months.
I came, I argued, I'm out
I just walked past their shop on Preah Sihonouk Blvd and it seems like business as usual.

Business still alive, huh?
I was in on day one - got their box 'n' all, but cancelled after 3 months because they weren't delivering on the channels they promised, and the picture kept cutting out for hours at a time frequently. Just wondering if they ever got their act together.

Wasn't there a thread you (or maybe it was me! ) started on it, where you were singing its praises? I almost signed up, but they wanted to take my money and couldn't tell me what channels I'd get. That was months ago. Then, about 2 weeks back, I thought I'd see how things were going, so I wandered into their office and couldn't find any staff to talk to about it. People seemed to be in there to just hang out and use the red couches. I waited a while, couldn't decipher much from their printed leaflets, so I gave up and left.andyinasia wrote:Business still alive, huh?

I can certainly live without service like that.

Yes, Andy was indeed singing its praises for a while. Ok so which is better, CCTV or PPCTV? PRetty uch the same I assume, though for some reason I don;t see Discovery listed on the CCTV website, though I'm pretty sure they have it.
