What does "Kiki Lu" mean?
I've been hearing and seeing this phrase all over phnom penh and in various KHmer songs and comedy bits lately. What does it mean?
I have no idea. It would mean howling dog, which could refer to a dog in heat. Someone mentioned it in another thread, I think.
It probably has a story behind it, like "swag" and "yolo."

There is a very family friendly clip on you tube called Khnom Jeg by Peak Mi.
Kikki Lu is mentioned in the song.

Kind of like 'Rover' in England - 'kiki' is a common pet name for a dog, the 'lu' bit adding a touch more cuteness.
I came, I argued, I'm out
This article in Khmer tried to answer that question: http://thmeythmey.com/index.php?page=de ... 4312&lg=kh (Don't have the time now to translate, so seek help from Google or a Cambodian-speaking good samaritan)
And a Twitter user gave a lead to that song, but it's a rather stretched guess: (Warning: WTF and head-shaking reaction ahead)

My Khmer teacher today said it means this as well and then he held up his middle finger, so I guess that's two people that think otherwise. The Peak Mi clip features it though, and you hear it on CTN bizarro comedy bits, as well as seeing it on the Ubiquitous "what does the kiki lu?" shirt everyone has now.raendi wrote:"Kiki kiki kiki" you say for dog, kikilu means FUCK.

Yes... it has a sexual connotation. And not in a bad way.raendi wrote: kikilu means FUCK.
Its a song... same as ""Pok Pu Na Ne" which also has sexual meaning.
There is another word "Iger Iger" also similar sexual meaning... i dont think they can be translated..
There are lots of these words around ( Que Que, Der Der) ... I just guess the spelling but the above are popular at moment.
If you know the girls and say these words you will get smiles all day...
Bond: "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned."
Q: "That's putting it mildly, 007!"
Q: "That's putting it mildly, 007!"
I'm trying really hard to make sense of those.... and I can't, I have never heard of them.
The euphemisms to indicate "to have sex" I know of are "tver knear" ("to do someone"), "chiss knear" ("ride someone"), and "choan knear" ("to step on someone").

The article says finding the definition of "kiki lu" is hard to find like flight MH370. Some say it's what you call a dog that's fallen into a drain "lu". Some say that's it's the noise a woman makes when she's having sex. Others say it's when you only managed to have sex one time.Joon wrote:This article in Khmer tried to answer that question: http://thmeythmey.com/index.php?page=de ... 4312&lg=kh (Don't have the time now to translate, so seek help from Google or a Cambodian-speaking good samaritan)

Just go with it....
I wouldn't even try to make sense of it...
These words are not in the khmer dictionary.... and your average khmer teacher will not teach you.
I guess it would be termed as slang??
maybe someone (say a teacher) else with greater knowledge than me can provide advice.
