Kamkav CEO Stefan Struik interviewed by police after videos of his BF torturing 2YO appear online
You would be surprised. Partners can often be in denial about it. Far commoner than you would imagine.violet wrote:what sort of person knows about the abuse and doesn't report it?
I dealt with a guy in the UK who makes this case look like a parking ticket offence. There was denial and obstruction from the entire family, including the scariest matriarch I have ever encountered.

All three were arrested in a Kampong Cham restaurant.

The problem with the world is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I admit to being sexist ... I wasn't expecting that to be the case. I've declared the same thing about females n denial iwith male partners (think Creulen), but that same justification/perception doesn't exist in the case of a gay couple such as these two. I hold my hands up to declare my fault

It exists within any relationship, be it sexual or familial. But at the same time, I know of many cases where it was someone in that position who approached the police or social work.

I think if it was my kid that did something wrong, I would have a lot of considerations to make. But, if I believed my child needed help and an intervention, and I also believed that harm to others might come if they were not confronted, then I could not stand by. If my kid actually killed Nguyen, for example, and no one knew. I doubt I would want to report him/her.Stramash wrote:violet wrote:I admit to being sexist ... I wasn't expecting that to be the case. The mostly hidden guy is Struik. The westerner in the middle of the picture is James from the Child Protection Unit.PorkPiePorn wrote:Who is the other Barang?

of course it does... i just held up my hands in acknowledgment that I don't always come from that frame of reference (I might not be explaining myself right).Stramash wrote:violet wrote:I admit to being sexist ... The photo posted by PPP was from the arrest. Apparently they were on ice. Shocker.

Yes, and ah, I did see that, my bad. No need to get snooty here, I am not here to cause trouble...... I ask a simple question and people stomp my head.[/quote]PorkPiePorn wrote:

No one is stomping your head, but you suddenly came in advising caution because Stefan Struik might be totally innocent, and you obviously hadn't even been following the story in any depth. How do you feel about Stefan Struik's book about a handsome man murdering a baby?
Anyway you can see him in this video of the Elfia festival, I think he's involved in organizing it.

It's impossible to know the extent of Struik's involvement, but it certainly looks very damning. I missed this earlier from the PPP story:
"A second Mondulkiri deputy police chief, Hang Chansothy, said yesterday that Struik had driven Tangdung to a bus station on Tuesday after a police manhunt began, facilitating his escape across the border to Vietnam. Chansothy added that Tangdung had used Struik’s phone to film the abuse and upload it to a Facebook account in the Dutchman’s name."
At the very least Struik helped Tanddung escape, and the snippet about the guy using Struik's phone to film the abuse and upload it to a Facebook account in Struik's name is incredible. He certainly has some very serious charges to answer.
LL's comments about the torture of children in his novels is interesting. Of course it's not evidence of anything, but it is horribly suggestive.

I thought that zapper looked familiar - looks like it is made out of a mosquito racket. It would give you a zap that would hurt you but it's nothing like the power of a stun-gun, which I thought it was before. And then you have that gigantic dildo on the left and the remains of some meth-pipes in the middle.Phnom Penh Post wrote:In two of those videos, the man alleged to be Tangdung can be seen giving his young victim electric shocks. A photo of the weapon used to apply the shocks supplied by the CPU showed it to be a DIY taser assembled by driving two nails into the top of an electric mosquito swatter, which is held together by cellotape.

Not suddenly at all, I said it in the first page or two, and ironically, LTO echoed it.
I have actually been trying to follow and read as much as possible, but my bad if I missed something, and I am currently in a different time zone, so when I began to catch up at about 3 am my time, you were 3 pm so ahead by a day's developments.Lucky Lucan wrote: ... and you obviously hadn't even been following the story in any depth.
I can barely stand looking at his face, I will not be trying to forensically examine his crappy writing for signs of some derangement. Its easy to read too much into that kind of thing.Lucky Lucan wrote: How do you feel about Stefan Struik's book about a handsome man murdering a baby?
Seems appropriate enough given his sexuality. Yes, in fact, he is the founder and it seems to draw about 20,000 plus weirdo's twice a year.Lucky Lucan wrote:Anyway you can see him in this video of the Elfia festival, I think he's involved in organizing it.
