Pan Ron and similar music

Postby musicaddict » Mon Feb 20, 2017 6:17 am

Hello,

I'm a big fan of Pan Ron unfortunately theres not much left of her recordings, thanks to khmer rouge. And what I have of her recordings is very bad in sound quality.
Are there any recordings of her that I may have missed with good sound quality?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5INc3cibXc

Also I'm looking similar music with female vocalist (maybe in the present ), anythink you can suggest?

English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.

There is a haunting beauty in the 'bad sound' for me which I find very endearing in all Khmer oldies.....

Youtube has become the place where people share classic Khmer music. This list has the biggest players, many who now upload original vinyl recordings. Just search youtube for their names and browse through their collections. While my channel has been neglected for quite a while, I still put it at the bottom of the list. :spam:

This is an excellent documentary. And it is available at the only remaining DVD shop on the riverside for $2. If you like Pen Ron, you'll love Ros Sereysothea. Also killed by the KR. But she has hundreds of songs available to listen to. She did many duets with Sinn Sisamouth.
