WTF...I regularly get hit on by Khmer dudes. It's not something I'm real fond of but it happens all the time! From all walks of life but never down in the tourist areas...I mean way out of town, and a few times in the work place on construction sites etc. Yesterday I had this freshie boy working at the local bakery tell me he loves me, with my wife sitting behind me on the Moto and my kid running around...FFS. And this has happened many times!
A week ago I was out for a run and had a very well dressed guy go past me slowly on his moto on a relatively quiet road off Hwy 1. Couldn't see his face as he had a dark visor on...thought he might be going to have a go. I always walk and run with a custom made hard bamboo stick to deal with dogs and anything else that comes along. Anyway this guy stopped a few hundred meters up the road and looked like he was taking a piss...no big deal. Kept walking...this guy lingered. Surely he couldn't still be pissing, I was thinking. Oncoming traffic forced me within a meter or so from this dude fucking pulling himself, waiting for me and trying to get me to do fuck knows what! I thought, you come near me and I'll split your head open with this fucking stick. I just walked faster and got away...idiot was still yelling out to me etc.
Is this normal behaviour or what? My wife is a teacher and she tells me that the boys are often dry humping each other and grabbing eachother on the dick. And she always telling them not to do it,I have seen this many times myself with adults at work and in the street.
Is this part of the culture in Cambodia ?

When I was running here in Chau Doc the other day, early in the morning and not much light, this young kid rode by me on a bicycle. He stopped a couple of hundred meters ahead, ostentatiously fixing the bikes chain. As I ran by, he jumped up and grabbed my tackle.....
Oh, why are you running with a stick?

Lots of dogs out this way that don't see many barangs...very bitey!
Don't mention the Giant Panda in the room.
It is odd. I don't think anyone was allowed to be a woofter here till about 15 years ago. Now four beers and each one of them is as camp as a row of tents.

I have been running all over SE Asia for 22 years; the only time I really had a dog come for me, it was an abandoned German Shepherd. I find that the local dogs in LOS, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam are all bark and no bite. Maybe I have just been lucky so far. The biggest nuisance are these little rat dogs that have become popular in recent years.Marvin wrote:Hanno wrote:When I was running here in Chau Doc the other day, early in the morning and not much light, this young kid rode by me on a bicycle.
