Mostly the insidious creep into my life. I know it will get worse and worse and more and more questions I don't want to answer, or avoid answering, will come.
I know direct questions happen here. I know everyone watches. I live with that even though I have a need for privacy. The slow creep is uncomfortable now. I want out. I have my Answer. I am moving. It is KNY. It makes it easier to cut back and then cut the ties completely.
I know too that I created it by not always being able to ignore his direct questions. I was taught that is ill mannered.
No big deal. some of you seem to think I am taking this more seriously than I am. I thought it was a topic worth bringing up. I laugh but there is a serious side too.

On the plus side at least you're getting some male attention that isn't bscw. Glass half full.
I had a similar conundrum with my motodup, Visal, which I wrote about for the forum here: http://www.khmer440.com/k/2015/05/tim-a ... s-motodop/
Ultimately I got lucky. I had a 2 month summer break from work, and told him I would call him when it was time to return to work. That bought me some much needed time, during which I bought a bicycle (a great decision, btw, despite sometimes being drenched on long rides and even short ones in this heat). Sure enough, Visal could be seen snooping around my neighborhood and one day, I ran into him--almost literally--with my bike. I said "Hey Visal! Great seeing you. Regrettably, your services will no longer be required this year. I wish you well my friend! Bye bye."
Never heard from him again. I have seen him around sporadically and he has deaded me. Great for me.

Dear Violet,
You are your own worst enemy . Whatever the problem is, was created by yourself.
You should know better, having lived in Cambodia before.
You dropped your guard.

Sounds like the guy is doing a good job and being friendly at the same time, albeit in that slightly annoying Asian way that we all sometimes have to deal with.
I doubt that there's anything to worry about. Sounds like a case of tuk tuk driver delusional disorder.
I don't know why people who are inept at dealing with this kind of thing come to a place like Cambodia, must be awful.

I know this bloke. Met him around 6 years ago when he still had his tuk tuk and worked outside OK Guesthouse. He used to carry a notebook to write down new English words as he learned them.Pecahead wrote:I had a similar conundrum with my motodup, Visal, which I wrote about for the forum here: http://www.khmer440.com/k/2015/05/tim-a ... s-motodop/
He brought me to a couple of wats and a restaurant where I guess he got a nice commission. I didn't mind, had nothing to do anyway.
That was it for me. Not for him, apparently. For the next few years when he would see me driving past his new location at the palace he would yell weird things after me. "I love you", "I miss you", that sort of thing.
I never stopped to chat.

Fair to say Violet is not in Cambodia. She's an oddball

anyway...
Violet, how did meet his wife and kids? Do they ride around with him on occasion?
"The final straw actually involved my mortal enemy vladimir, who you may or may not know is an insufferable, overposting asshat."
imo they are very closely related to prostitutes, mama-sans and wifey guest house owners.spitthedog wrote:Studies show that genetically tuktuk drivers are very closely related to politicians, Khmer Rouge soldiers and chimpanzees. In other words narcissism and lying is in their DNA. So when in Rome and all that...
Violet,
Maybe you could start a moto version of Uber in Phnom Penh with only barang riders?

He sounds like he's just being friendly.
Probably thinks OP could do with some mates or something.
His way of being kind and considerate and yet this is how she replays him.
Sad.

Women should start a moto service here i reckon for the following reasons;
a) They don't drive like psychotic chimpanzees on crack with a death wish.
b) They usually have an inbuilt nurturing gene.
c) They are less likely to offer you massage boom boom somewhere.
d) They are less likely to be completely shit faced.
e) They are less likely to pry into your personal life.

"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
f) They are more likely to be gang raped by competing boom boom massa dudes
