Price for a moto&motodop for a day?
Price for a moto&motodop for a day?
Would be looking for a motodup to take me from psar damko to takeo province, each way about 2.5 hours the first time that we did it, subsequent days it might only be two hours. Would want to stay in takeo perhaps four hours, perhaps as long as six hours . Food and a place to rest would be provided.
What would be a fair price to pay? Any ideas about how to find such a driver, perhaps Khmer24.com or other ideas?
Thank you

why not just get a bus? would it not be more comfortable than sitting on the back of a motodop? or renting a bike yourself?wat wrote:Would be looking for a motodup to take me from psar damko to takeo province, each way about 2.5 hours the first time that we did it, subsequent days it might only be two hours. Four or five hours on the back of a moto sounds grim.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Motorbike: 5-6 USD / day
Fuel: 2-4 USD / day
Driver: 5-10 USD / day
I'd say 15-25 USD a day is a fair deal, not sure a motodup will agree though.

Just buy a Moto. Or rent one http://www.motorcyclecambodia.com/
And I know you can get better prices on renting but $6 aint bad for a day.

I actually did this trip when I was in Cambodia a few weeks ago and it was pretty simple. I went to ផ្សាដើមគរ (psaa daum gao) as you seem to be doing, that dirty but charming market by the side of a busy road which seemed to be not too far from the Russian market. Near the big petrol station, I found a guy with a mini-bus who was transporting a few people like 4-5 and a bunch of chickens. He charged me about $5 to go to Takeo and I didn't even bargain because he seemed like a good dude. We did stop along the way for some food.
I would not take a motodub because the road to Takeo is very very dusty and open air and filled with racing maniacs, enormous trucks, and all sorts of unsafe seeming driving practices (like 10 guys on the top of a van going to work?).

Thank you for the answers , in particular the one with an estimate and a breakdown of what would be a fair price.
It should have been in questions and answers, so apologies, if moderator can move the thread please do so.
I can not drive, so that is why I want a driver. I like going on a bike, since I do so rarely, and the cost is better than the sixty dollars or so that we have paid for a tuk tuk in the past. It is in the countryside, so no buses, and the minibuses ,while only 10000 riel or less, are impossibly crowded.
I don't think that there are any Motodop drivers on this forum, may try Khmer24.
