Perhaps it’s just a crappy advertising theme by someone trying to be cool.
I saw it and just thought it was lame.
Yes, if you don't know the back story it would just seem like a lame ad.
But if you know the back story that Brooklyn Pizza had two owners, that the remaining owner sells take away pizzas at the original Brooklyn Pizza location, while the other former owner now does delivery Brooklyn pizzas from a second shop, and they parted on not good terms, and the delivery guy has a conviction record from when he was 19 and reportedly forced himself on a girl, then it becomes clear that this is not just a lame ad or a weird ad or nonsensical ad.
It's an ad by the Brooklyn pizza restaurant touting their "original" takeaway pizzas that makes direct reference to the criminal history of the guy who does the other Brooklyn pizza deliveries. Which seems like a dumb marketing strategy to remind people at all of the association between Brooklyn Pizza and child sex offense, because some people may not understand the different ownerships of Brooklyn takeaway v. Brooklyn delivery and they might just avoid both places.
It would be like a Subway franchisee running ads saying "Visit our franchised location, not the corporate owned Subway shops, because Jared is a pedophile." Really, really dumb marketing plan there.
