Curious if anyone is getting 4G from Cellcard in Phnom Penh and if so, or if not, where.
It seems to have totally disappeared for the last week. Now just total crap. H+ or edge everywhere I seem to go around Phnom Penh.

Are you sure it's not just a wrong setting on your phone? Can happen if you have 2sims and connect with the wrong one.

I've had a 3G package with Cellcard/Mobitel for years and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to 4G but maybe you answered that question already.

Why wouldn’t you?Lucky Lucan wrote:I've had a 3G package with Cellcard/Mobitel for years and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to 4G but maybe you answered that question already.
It’s free (or it used to be) and worst case scenario is that your internet is the same as current. Best case internet is much faster.

4G if working properly is night and day faster than 3G. I'm on Smart 4G here and it's been great. Loads of data for 1$ week and quite fast.Lucky Lucan wrote:I've had a 3G package with Cellcard/Mobitel for years and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to 4G but maybe you answered that question already.
That being said, 4G on my network when I'm back in Canada makes the 4G here look like a snail. Hard to complain with the low price of data here though.

Fuck knows. I just haven't gotten around to doing anything about it. I have good connections at home and work so I don't even use much data on my phone plan.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Why wouldn’t you?Lucky Lucan wrote:I've had a 3G package with Cellcard/Mobitel for years and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to 4G but maybe you answered that question already.

The biggest use for phone data is drunk posting away from home or office. Sometimes available Wifi is spotty at the watering holes.
And of course to have internet when your home internet goes out. I used mobile hotspot a bit too frequently at home.

Used it a few weeks ago and only went off for a day but rectified that just by turning the 4g connection off and on again in my phone connection settings .
Now if only i knew how to top up the fugger myself with those little ticket fingies that you buy. #Genius
Do Cellcard do longer than 1 month expiration plans?
Cellcard is good for Chinooky as you never know if or when those SS casino folks might come round and take your building with you holding your 6m fixed line package and just installed router.

Got Smart 4G and on good days it's way faster than any WiFi here, but on bad days my buddy with 3G gets better speed.
So like anything here I guess - unreliable.
However, like it was said it's free so no harm
I did notice that with better internet speed I use my phone more often than before hence data bill went up

How much are you paying for your data? Using Smart ThomMorng 1$ a week gives you a huge amount of data. I use 30 - 50 gigs a month and it costs 4$HsRob wrote:Got Smart 4G and on good days it's way faster than any WiFi here, but on bad days my buddy with 3G gets better speed.

Thanks. I had checked that. Got caught once before. Today 4G seems to be working with Cellcard.logos wrote:Are you sure it's not just a wrong setting on your phone? Can happen if you have 2sims and connect with the wrong one.

God I miss how cheap data on cell phones were in Cambodia. Verizon is getting us for 150$ per month for 2 lines with 15 GB of data each. While its unlimited calling and SMS, who gives a fuck as we rarely use voice calls.kansaicanuck wrote:How much are you paying for your data?
